Sadly, I cannot jump on the band wagon of paid positive comments and reviews. Look at my history of reviews. I rarely give reviews, let alone of this length... My experience with my 13 year son today at Uccello's was disgusting. I will list out my reasoning and let you decide. I hope your experience is/was nothing like ours and they prove me wrong going forward.

Uccello's of Rockford keeps the front 'garage style doors' open letting in all the street air. It is a nice breeze in the summer but when smokers walk by (or camp) by the doors, the entire restaurant smells. A few patrons and I asked if they could close the gates at least until the smokers had gone. We were flat out told the people sitting by the window wanted them open. Yet, looking around it was very clear to see everyone was troubled. My son and I were mid-meal and had to stop eating. The individuals who wanted it open obviously out weighed the 8+ guests I spoke with. We ordered a 12 inch (medium) pepperoni pizza and a salad with roasted Chicken (dinner style). The pizza was greasier than a $1.00 pizza from Walmart and the salad was 95% lettuce with a piece of chicken that couldn't fill a 3 year old. These 2 items cost us $28.00 ( I am not including the almost $2.50+ a soda and other over priced drinks). We were greeted, after our meal, by a 'drive-by' manager who asked how we were doing and left just as soon as he asked the question. He clearly had somewhere else to be. My advice to you. Either give a damn or find another profession. I don't believe you actually stopped walking as you asked us and passed by. Over-staffed - There were more employees then customers on a Wednesday night at 5pm. My son and I had to listen to gossip from 20-nothing year olds about who is sleeping with you, how it is so unfair they have to work XYZ shift and how people do not tip. Go in the back and talk, seriously, no paying customer wants to hear this.

I am submitting this with my real name, I live in Rockford and I have visited this location many times over the years. I do no enjoy writing this review and I hope things improve after this is written. I for one will never return to this...

The food here is very tasty but I was not satisfied with my recent curbside carry out experience. We ordered two stuffed pizzas and a kids pizza meal which totaled $52.44. When my wife came home with the order I found out multiple parts of the order were missing. The mixed fruit side and drink with the kids meal were not provided which was not the end of the world because we have fruit and juice at home. But the pizza sauce that comes on the side automatically when you order stuffed pizza were both missing. If we lived closer we would just run back but we live 30 minutes away. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager and he took off the kids meal ($5.49) and I'm pretty chill with places that appear they're making an effort and left it at that. After the call our family started eating the stuffed pizza without sauce and it was too dry and just needed the sauce. So my wife decided to make sauce to go with it which defeats half the purpose of eating out so you don't have to cook anything. Now the pizza won't be dry but by the time the sauce was done we had to reheat our pizza. After all is said and done it dawned on me that we just paid $46.62 for an incomplete meal that we had to take time to cook our own sauce, a main component for the pizzas that ultimately needed to be reheated as a result. Now I'm not the type to call back and ask for anything so I didn't but it just doesn't sit right because eating out should not be a hassle and we still grossly overpaid for an incomplete meal and overall...

Oh my gosh you guys. We’ve been going to Uccello’s in Rockford since it opened. It’s always been great! Not tonight. We went for a beer, sat at the bar, and ordered a takeout pizza while we waited. We asked the bartender how long should we wait before we order because it seemed pretty busy. She said wait till you’re about halfway through your beer an hour. So we did. And then the pizza took over an hour. And then the bartender came back and said they did not do your order right so you can take what you didn’t order or you can wait for what you did order. We said we will wait for what we did order. We reluctantly said we want what we ordered and asked how long will it take to get our actual order, and she said well the kitchen is pretty backed up. And we said well that’s like you guys messed that up so our reorder should be fast right? The manager came out after and brought us a version of what we ordered, but not what we ordered and said they would pay for what we ordered. This is all great, except the bartender was like angry the entire time in all of her interactions with guests. The kitchen did a terrible job, and the reality is, it was a terrible experience. Usually, Uccellos in Rockford is a great place to go. After tonight, I would say...

Good food and atmosphere. Plenty of TV's for the game. Background music was a classic rock genre with a great selection of songs. We had pizza and a fiesta wrap which were very good. I would have given 5 stars for the food category if it were not for our dessert. This time of year in June, during the strawberry season, they have a large strawberry shortcake to share, which is usually very good, but unlike the past, this time there were only a few strawberries on top and the presentation of the dish was a mess, though it tasted good! Kinda defeats the purpose of the namesake dish to only have a few strawberries too. I posted pics showing last year compared to this time to make the point. Fix this and 5 stars.

Today i got the Seafood Pizza with Alfredo sauce topped with shrimp, scallops and crab.. delicious. Also the Italian Cobb Salad egg, salami, banana peppers, roasted tomato, artichoke heart, Sicilian olives gondola beans topped with Blue Cheese dressing! HEADS UP TO VETERANs you get 26% OFF all your food! remember.. call the order in (or use while dining in!) and you will get this discount! Parking can be hard sometimes but atmosphere and quality of the food make this place a must see especially for VETERANS!

Food was good, we had the chips and cheese deluxe, Ham sub and Lasagna. All were large serving size! If you arent able to eat such big servings perhaps ask for half order. Wait staff was pleasant. If you prefer quiet dining maybe try earlier in the day. We went at 5p.m. So it was very busy and a bit loud. Our meal with 3 sodas, large lasagna, large chips and cheese, large sub came to a little over $50.
