Learn moreSadly, I cannot jump on the band wagon of paid positive comments and reviews. Look at my history of reviews. I rarely give reviews, let alone of this length... My experience with my 13 year son today at Uccello's was disgusting. I will list out my reasoning and let you decide. I hope your experience is/was nothing like ours and they prove me wrong going forward.
Uccello's of Rockford keeps the front 'garage style doors' open letting in all the street air. It is a nice breeze in the summer but when smokers walk by (or camp) by the doors, the entire restaurant smells. A few patrons and I asked if they could close the gates at least until the smokers had gone. We were flat out told the people sitting by the window wanted them open. Yet, looking around it was very clear to see everyone was troubled. My son and I were mid-meal and had to stop eating. The individuals who wanted it open obviously out weighed the 8+ guests I spoke with. We ordered a 12 inch (medium) pepperoni pizza and a salad with roasted Chicken (dinner style). The pizza was greasier than a $1.00 pizza from Walmart and the salad was 95% lettuce with a piece of chicken that couldn't fill a 3 year old. These 2 items cost us $28.00 ( I am not including the almost $2.50+ a soda and other over priced drinks). We were greeted, after our meal, by a 'drive-by' manager who asked how we were doing and left just as soon as he asked the question. He clearly had somewhere else to be. My advice to you. Either give a damn or find another profession. I don't believe you actually stopped walking as you asked us and passed by. Over-staffed - There were more employees then customers on a Wednesday night at 5pm. My son and I had to listen to gossip from 20-nothing year olds about who is sleeping with you, how it is so unfair they have to work XYZ shift and how people do not tip. Go in the back and talk, seriously, no paying customer wants to hear this.
I am submitting this with my real name, I live in Rockford and I have visited this location many times over the years. I do no enjoy writing this review and I hope things improve after this is written. I for one will never return to this...
Read moreThe food here is very tasty but I was not satisfied with my recent curbside carry out experience. We ordered two stuffed pizzas and a kids pizza meal which totaled $52.44. When my wife came home with the order I found out multiple parts of the order were missing. The mixed fruit side and drink with the kids meal were not provided which was not the end of the world because we have fruit and juice at home. But the pizza sauce that comes on the side automatically when you order stuffed pizza were both missing. If we lived closer we would just run back but we live 30 minutes away. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager and he took off the kids meal ($5.49) and I'm pretty chill with places that appear they're making an effort and left it at that. After the call our family started eating the stuffed pizza without sauce and it was too dry and just needed the sauce. So my wife decided to make sauce to go with it which defeats half the purpose of eating out so you don't have to cook anything. Now the pizza won't be dry but by the time the sauce was done we had to reheat our pizza. After all is said and done it dawned on me that we just paid $46.62 for an incomplete meal that we had to take time to cook our own sauce, a main component for the pizzas that ultimately needed to be reheated as a result. Now I'm not the type to call back and ask for anything so I didn't but it just doesn't sit right because eating out should not be a hassle and we still grossly overpaid for an incomplete meal and overall...
Read moreHad a very long wait for my curbside order with people waiting and hungry at home. Came in from Sand Lake so it's about a 25 minute drive to the restaurant itself and another 25 back. We placed the order online and finally left with the order an hour after placing it. Got there on time and waited outside 20 minutes longer than what I was told when I called to let them know I was there. Called back a 2nd time (20 minutes later) and was rudely told it was just coming out of the oven then and getting cut. (Sophie answered when I called back that second time. She sounded upset with me that I was upset I was still waiting! Sorry, girlfriend. You'd be irritated, too.) That was a bad first impression for me and others, but they made it right themselves. The guy who brought the order out was so apologetic and kind... and they even threw in a piece of cheesecake for us. The food was so good that I forgot we had to wait so long. Thank you to the guy who brought our food out for being kind and understanding of our frustration. Sophie, please learn that customers are allowed to be upset when their wait time is far longer than what they were told. Food is great- but customer service...
