Bixby Chocolate — Restaurant in Rockland

By the time I leave this quick review we have ordered three times from Bixby and can't wait to find an excuse to place our 4th order. They are a hand-made candy company and their chocolate pieces are simply scrumptous. Right now they, like so many other companies, are dealing with the covid issue but the day will soon come when their doors are flung open once again. You can place an order and pick it up curb side. They are located right the ocean and that theme is found on many of their wonderful pieces with a bit of flake sea-salt on them. You really need to study their website. We are waiting for the day when we can visit and buy off the shelf for a good assortment. The Mid-Coast, however, is lucky to have such a find candy maker locally situated for those special presents and gifts for that important someone.....or yourself! We saw a sign when we got off our cruise ship that said something about free chocolate samples. I am always up for free chocolate. We found our way to Bixby&Co. This was well worth the walk. We looked around the shop for a bit. The shop not only sells chocolates but makes them from the bean to the mold. This was impressive to me. After a few more people came in they asked if we would like to hear about the history of chocolate and their story. This was a good presentation. I thinks it is cool that they have a hand in the whole process from beginning to end. We got our samples and then left with more bags of treats. We even had one with potato in it (which we can appreciate being from Idaho)! I would definitely recommend a stop in here if you find yourself in...

We absolutely love Bixby Chocolate! Our personal favorites are the Needhams—the magic of potato in a dessert never fails to surprise and delight our guests :). The bonbons like salted caramels are irresistible too. One thing we especially appreciate is how they're constantly innovating and introducing new flavors and confections almost every year. We can't wait to try the chocolate sardines next!

It's wonderful that many local retailers carry Bixby products, but we particularly enjoy ordering directly. Their beautiful packaging makes it a joy to send our favorites as gifts to friends around the country. Highly recommend this awesome...
