My wife and I stayed here for one night on October 10, 2024 as we toured the southwest portion of the "Downeast" section of Maine. The hotel was relatively new (construction), our room was clean, it had a nice little balcony with a view of the harbor, and the front desk staff were friendly upon check-in and checkout. It also had a good continental breakfast in the lobby on the bottom floor with a nice variety of foodstuffs offered. It's not a fancy hotel (i.e., about like a Holiday Inn or Comfort Inn amenity wise), but the location was excellent and only a short walk to a good selection of restaurants along South Main Street. Of note, several restaurants in and around the harbor area had already closed down for the season the week prior to our stay, but we finally wound up settling on one that was co-located in the same building as the nearby Lighthouse Museum. I would recommend staying here if you are visiting the town of Rockland, or nearby seaside towns of Rockport or Camden, namely because our room was reasonably priced at 195.22 (including tax) at the tail end of the tourist season. Rockport and Camden are much more picturesque towns than Rockland (which is mostly an industrial port), but they are very expensive for dining and lodging during the tourist season and they are only a short drive up US-1 (10-15...
Read moreI came to Maine from Maryland to visit a long time friend who loves locally. He suggested the hotel due to its location to several places he wanted us to visit. At check in, the clerk was very kind and attentive. Although we were younger gentlemen, who can sometimes can be obnoxious, she treated us with compassion. The room was spacious and accommodating to our group, and was very modern. The highlight of our stay here was the outside fire pit. Here, we met with several other guests, who we never met in our life and had a great time talking to over some drinks. After the fire went out automatically, some of the other guests did get upset but the front desk agent kindly explained it's on a timer and it automatically goes out. She said we were welcome to sit and talk still or come inside to the common area. The entire week there, everyone was kind and working in the industry, I was very impressed with the staff. I will always make sure this is my first recommendation when travelling to the...
Read moreWe've stayed at the Rockland Harbor Hotel several times.||Congenial front desk staff. The large dining room serves as a common area where you can work on your laptop or play games. There was a jig saw puzzle out this visit, which was a nice communal touch. There’s also seating out in front.||Rooms with a small balcony are nice. The hotel is located on the main street, but at the end of the business area, so it is relatively quiet, then a hop skip and a jump and you are right in town.||Comfortable beds, fairly spacious room, not many good TV channels, amenities so-so, average mid-range hotel.||Breakfast is okay, in a big comfortable dining room, help yourself. Then go a few blocks down and get yourself a great breakfast pastry and cappuccino at Atlantic Baking Company. You can get very good picnic sandwiches there as well.||Do you like good food? Primo (a short drive away) is excellent and 13 Oak in the center of town is very good (where the dearly departed Cafe Miranda...
