You can get puffin mugs, shot glasses, and assorted other puffin accoutrements here. After that you can explore the hallway that leads to a small conference room. Knowledgeable staff from the non-profit Audubon Society engage us tremendous knowledge, and one of the other staff was engaging a group of kids with a model of the research box the scientists use on the side. I am better of for having come here! And - they partner with 2 Puffin boat tours where your trip funds their work. We just got back from Hardy Boat Cruise one, and we saw a hundred or more puffins and other seabirds as they idled near the island. Read moreAs I was strolling down Main St Rockland, I stumbled upon something pretty cool. What a fun and certainly educational 60 mins it was. I happenstance upon an active Q and A with a volunteer and a very curious couple, so I joined in. What an informative discussion, and then she pulls up a live camera view, on the large screen, and behold...Puffins! And very up close! Quite the cool moment for us all. We almost high-fived each other, as it was so spontaneous and unexpected!
