Going to Eclipse Of The Pearl turned out to be a happy accident for our family. 12 of us, (counting 5 children) tried to get into a restaurant across the street, which will remain nameless. (Hint - Hills). The first restaurant told us they couldnât accommodate us because of staffing issues. I drove down the hill to look at the docks, and noticed Eclipse right by the water. At first, I thought it was a little deli. But I walked up and discovered it was a restaurant with some attractive dishes listed outside. When I went in, they told me they could accommodate us all. They put some tables together right by the windows facing the water. The people couldnât have been any more accommodating or friendly. But, what about the food? In a word, extraordinary! Among us, we had clam chowder, lobster bisque, cocoanut shrimp, blackened haddock tacos, lobster linguini, and chicken tenders and grilled cheese for the kiddos. One of the adults is vegetarian and, although they didnât have any vegetarian entree on the menu, they made up a wonderful vegetarian pasta dish for her. All were WONDERFUL. No exaggeration. Beer on tap and wine were good, too. After, our server showed up with fudge sickles for the kids and, after, candy! We have been staying in the area for just about a week, eating out at least once a day. This was, by far, our best experience in terms of both food and service in an attractive, clean restaurant. Oh, I almost forgot, both the French fries and sweet potato fries were outstanding, too. Highly...
Read moreI recently visited The Dry Dock, and while the food was absolutely delicious, the service setup left much to be desired.
The biggest issue? The bartender is also serving the entire bar, the restaurant, and had her own tables. Thatâs rightâone person handling everything. This is not only unfair to the staff but also impacts the customer experience. Because of this setup, the wait time for food was noticeably longer than it should have been, and you could feel the strain on the service.
However, Stephanie, our waitress who was also the bartender, was beyond phenomenal. Despite being stretched so thin, she managed to stay friendly, attentive, and professional. Her hard work and great attitude really helped improve the experience, but itâs clear the restaurant needs to rethink how they assign staff. Stephanie rocked that place and kept it going!!!
The food, though, was exceptionalâeverything we ordered was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Itâs a shame that the awkward setup and wait times took away from what couldâve been a flawless dining experience.
I hope management makes some changes to the staff distribution because with a better system in place, this restaurant could...
Read moreI went here for Mother's Day with my mom, and was sadly disappointed. She uses a walker, and first off, the incline leading up to the front door is pretty steep. And then once inside, it was rather cramped, and hard to maneuver getting to the table and out again. It was also really noisy, but there was also a big party there. Although, it's a small restaurant, and the noise seems to just fill up the space. My blackened salmon was ok but overcooked, and then getting baby roasted carrots as a side, I'm sorry, but use whole carrots. My mom's steak was overdone too. We could barely talk due to the noise. And then she got some vertigo leaving the place on that incline, just didn't expect it. The service was good, and it seemed others were enjoying themselves, so maybe just not the right place for us. But I did want to warn others who might go there with a walker, that it's a bit tricky. Best of luck to...
