My girlfriend and I were out for a date night really hadn't decide where to eat when we walked by this restaurant. We got there right before the dinner rush. We were kindly greeted at the door and properly seated over by the bar/ piano area. Everyone from the general manager to the chef and our servers were absolutely amazing. Everyone was professional but not overly pretentious. You have the feeling of being in a upscale restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere that is inviting. We both had steaks she had the Delmonico I have the New York strip both medium rare cook perfectly with a good seer sadly only on one side but I'll give them a pass. They were also season 2 perfection and the fat was rendered nicely. We had the macaroni and cheese and cream spinach both were very good. And we split a caesar salad which was nothing special but very good it's a Caesar salad after all. They give you bread and butter and as far as bread and butter goes it was excellent. The butter was especially good especially with the volcanic salt on top. The only part of the meal I did not thoroughly enjoy was the chocolate cake at the end it was very dry and unremarkable to say the least. Oh and I almost forgot we did have several mixed drinks and they were outstanding they do not skimp on the alcohol play let's be honest is the best part. We will definitely be back we both enjoyed this restaurant. My girlfriend even said it was the best meal she's ever had. And I can definitely say it's at the top of my list as well. Almost forgot the crab cakes are a must they are...
Read moreMy wife and I had dinner at SEAR Steakhouse & Lounge in Rockwall with another couple, and overall, the experience was disappointing.
The atmosphere is beautiful—great location right on the water—but all the blinds were closed until after sunset. I understand the sun shines into the dining room, but it would’ve been nice to enjoy the view before it got dark. On top of that, the temperature inside was uncomfortably cold. I’m rarely cold, but even I was freezing the entire time.
The service was the weakest point. Our waiter lacked any real personality—everything felt scripted. It took 10 minutes just to get greeted, and nearly 30 minutes before we received our first round of drinks. He prioritized other tables despite having already seated us, which set the tone for the evening.
As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The lobster bisque tasted a little off. My wife’s wedge salad came topped with fried onion rings that still had the outer peel, making them tough and inedible. My main course—a New York Strip Oscar style—was underseasoned and bland, especially the béarnaise sauce. Not the quality I expected.
Finally, after everyone else’s plates and glasses were cleared, my empty plate sat untouched for 15 minutes until I finally had to ask the waiter to take it. That kind of inattentiveness just summed up the service experience.
All in all, SEAR has potential with its beautiful location, but the food and service didn’t meet expectations. A solid 3 stars, and that might be generous. I doubt...
Read moreGreat romantic, cozy atmosphere. Had been looking for a good streak house nearby and this was a great choice. Recommend making a reservation on line. We got a great table very cozy and romantic. Felt like they had been waiting for us which was very much appreciated. The food was excellent we started of with the crab cakes which did not disappoint. Others we have tried are doctored up so much you can barely taste the crab. This were light and full of flavor. We then split a wedge salad and the blue cheese and bacon were delicious. Another great choice. We each got a filet mignon and the meat was tender and soft and definitely did not disappoint. I recommend the chimichurri sauce to go with the meat which was just right. Other sauces we’ve tried are overwhelming with garlic but this one was just perfect. We also tried the horseradish sauce but honestly tasted like fluffy butter and didn’t taste any of the horseradish in it. We also tried the mushrooms and the macaroni & cheese. Both of those sides where mediocre at best. Not much flavor in either one. Hubby said the mac & cheese from a box is better. And the mushrooms were nothing to rave about. We ended up getting the apple crostini for dessert and it was to die for. I LOVED it. Wasn’t too sweet like some desserts can be. It was delicious. All in all definitely will go again. Can be pricey we spent over $250 with tip and only got two drinks. But will try different side...
