Anne's Donuts and Bakery — Restaurant in Rocky Mount

Ok here we go. So I ordered this cake a week prior to my son's bday. I paid right at $90 for two dozen cupcakes (not pictured) that had orange colored original cake with white icing and small green sprinkles, and then the price also included the cake pictured which under the icing had two layers of orange colored cake also. The taste was great for all!!! I did want the green pouring look to cover the to of the cake also and not just the sides but it won't no biggie to me. As you can may or may not tell from the pictures the cake was not even on the board it was placed on and some how shifted and smushed up against the box it come in. Now the lady did open the box before I ever left the shop to show me my cake. I did not pay attention to this prior to leaving with the cake so if it was already like this in the box i did not notice before leaving and that's my own fault. I probably wouldn't have said anything anyways since I was a few minutes past their closing time on a Sunday and the lady was nice enough to remain open for me to come get my order. She was very nice once I got there and even offered to help me with my order out to the car. The mandalorian cake topper and candles were ordered from another company and not supplied by Anne's. I will probably aim for a more detailed cake next time considering the price I did pay and then it was pretty smushed in the back. But my son was happy with it smushed or not and that's all that...

I ordered Anne's sweet tray for 12 people and needless to say I am very disappointed. They chose to leave off the cheese straws and replace them with some type of brownie bites. If a customer places an order three hours in advance they owe it to the customer to call them if the items (that is listed on the website) are not available. In this particular case, I was told they didn't want to include the cheese straws because they only make a certain amount each day and didn't want to run out. While standing there in the store I see a full tray of cheese straws available to customers except me! Don't advertise something if you can't back it up. I have been a long time customer of this store but because of the attitude of the cashier and the disregard of customer satisfaction I choose never to do business here again. I would also like to say that 36.00 for this tray listed below is ridiculous. Never...

The donuts were just okay. Minus three stars for terrible customer service. When I went there, the woman working didn’t even acknowledge my presence. No greeting, no ask of what I wanted. She was however looking at me the entire time. I spoke first, said what I wanted and she put the donuts in a bag. She told me the total and I paid. After I paid, she dropped the bag of donuts on the counter and walked away without a word.

Unreal. I’ll never understand the impulse to treat poorly courteous customers willing to spend their money at your establishment.
