Never ever spend your money here.
:
We were went here many times but this time it was very bad experience.
Story:
We are 5 people the service given by mexican guy and other old guy was good. But at end when we go for bill payment at counter and the Cashier whose name was ASIF make very big bill with adding GRATUITY and he added $20 as GRATUITY, I asked what is this he said this tip you have add in bill as service. I Said I don't want to pay the tips because I don't like your service and after that he treat me like enemy. I talked him with respect but he talked like bad guy. I never pay any GRATUITY and anybudy never pay like this, but when you like you can pay as tips as you like.
But cashier say this necessary rules to pay GRUITY at last I did not pay tips beacuse of this rude old man.
Please when you go over this place please be aware of GRATUITY charges in this Restaurant especially when the 60 year old Guy again whose name is ASIF would be at cashier.
About food: We came here 5 times in year and service and food quality were good but day by day they are manipulating people with only frozen gravy and hot it on gas stove.
Third quality service by cashier... Again please don't waste your money here….
Spend your money at good location then this which have good quality food and customer service.
Again at last Please be aware of GRATUITY Charges when you are more then 5 people at time of BILL PAYMENT.
All people were good but only the bald Guy Asif is very rude, need some learning how to...
Read moreOverall experience was ok. Would definitely go again for rumali Roti. I m not sure about other items.
We ordered the following items: Rumali roti (5/5) Matar paneer (2/5- I had specifically asked for this to be mild, but even their mild was super spicy, and I couldn't eat it. As per the person working there, he showed me the bill to prove that he added a note for mild curry, but it was super duper spicy. Dal tadka- (3/5) After eating matar paneer, I barely got any flavor of dal tadka because my mouth was already on fire. After coming home, I heated to have this, but this one also was definitely not mild as I had asked them to make it. Chicken tandoor - the overall flavor was good (3.5/5) Masala papad- (1/5) it was more of an onion papad. Just for name sake & to show color , one or two pieces of tomato and bell peppers are added. But other than that, it was filled with onion only. Plain papad (5/5) - nothing to go wrong with this. Yogurt(5/5)- plain yogurt, nothing to go wrong with this either. Apart from the above listed, they decided side of onion, cucumber, and plain raita.
We had ordered plain rice on the side, which never came.
After washing our hands, we saw that our table already had a small cup of dessert. Based on the quantity, we assumed that it was for tasting or maybe complimentary. But while we were paying the bill, we realized that it cost $6 dollar for only 2-3 spoons of dudh dulhari.
The songs that were playing in the background were good. The staffs were...
Read moreSeemed like the staff were oblivious to the needs of customers. We arrived at 6:30 to an empty restaurant, so we, at least, expected great service from the four staff members in the front of the house. Though we were three, we had to ask for more than one menu.. We asked for water, and as we later observed, unless we had asked for perfectly fine Chicago tap water, we were served bottled water at $1.50. Our table order was for one traditional stewed dish and two tandoor "kabab" items - seekh kababs and lamb chops, plus samosas. The samosas and stew came in about twenty minutes and both were very good.. The lamb chops came next after a puzzling additional 20 minutes, and they were oversalted and literally burnt to a crisp. We returned them. The seekh kababs came after another 10 minutes or so, and they were excellent. My reordered lamb chops finally came, and they were OK, but still dry and excessively blackened. Other customers arrived at the restaurant and were seated, but the staff mostly carried on with lively conversations amongst themselves. Shortly after seating a trio in the center of the still mostly empty room, one staff member got a ladder and began removing 6-7 large suspended ceiling tiles right over the trio. We saw no offer to reseat the customers. So, the food was highly variable, the service substandard, and it is therefore difficult to recommend Delhi Darbar until they get their chef, staff, and customer service...
