I was debating whether to give Dragon Gate 4 or 5 stars. The food is pretty tasty, but damn, it's not an easy place to do business with. They don't have a website or online menu, they don't have a paper carry out menu, you can't order online, they don't deliver, and they don't take credit cards. It's a bit of a pain in the rump to order from here, but it's really the only good Chinese take out place that's close to where I live. So, I'll give it 5 stars for the food. Message to owner: Please enter the 21st century!! I've posted a picture of their current menu and prices as of November 2022.

HARD PASS. Egg roll had wonton wrapper, not terrible. Mongolian beef tastes like hospital food. Huge slabs of not BBQ pork in the fried rice - no egg? no sprouts? But carrot and peas? First Chinese food in a long time that doesn't seem to know how to "velvet" beef.. Hot and sour soup looks like nasty tofu gravy.

Take out place. One table there. Sweet n sour pork, look like fried in old oil. Fried rice, nice flavor, could use a little dark soy flavor. But.. carrots? Peas, um not usual. Where’s the egg and bean sprouts? Catering to neighborhood, perhaps… might go back for the rice but order without carrots.

I am new to the area and have been looking for tasty places and neighborhood businesses (because a lot of times these are where the hidden gems are!). I was drawn to the reviews because I was looking for orange chicken-I saw really good reviews about so I gave it a shot. My husband and I were so disappointed with the orange chicken :( ! It was NOT good at all. It was dry, not chicken thighs and the sauce was okay but the chicken tasted like skin-on dried unseasoned chicken. We ordered egg rolls (veggie only-and taste better warmed later on but are soggy), crab ragoons -good but bite sized for 6; with barely any cream cheese, orange chicken (which was not good) and mongolian beef (this was the best dish which is why I gave it a 3 star rating as opposed to 1-2). Total was $43 for this, as prices have increased. It is a casual pick up, cash-only place, quick easy to order. But other reviews about orange chicken are noooot accurate, not the best orange chicken! Not really reccomended to dine in, street pay by plate...

Dragon Gate is a hidden gem. The food is REALLY good! It is unexpected because it comes from a tiny hole in the wall place that is so nondescript that it is easily missed if not specifically looking for it. I believe a 4.5 rating is more appropriate because they are cash only which is inconvenient. Also, this sounds elitist but I do not like canned mushrooms although, in fairness, I can understand why this small place would use them since fresh would quickly go bad if not ordered often. Since there is no 4.5 rating, I must give 5 Stars because 4 does not adequately reflect the quality of the food at...
