Hahn Liquors — Local services in Rogers Park Township

I came in and bought $150 worth of liquor and a few bottles of soda. The older gentleman rang me up and bagged my items. I walked back to the car, opened my Mountain Dew and it was stale, the expiration date said 10/18/21 (today is 11/24/21) so I walked back in, the other Mountain Dew was also expired so I grabbed a cream soda and asked if I could exchange it. He says no. I’m confused. You sold me an expired product. He says “I don’t even know if you got that from here.” “Sir, you just sat and bagged it up for me.” “Yeah but maybe you got it from somewhere else.” I asked if he wanted to see my receipt (as proof). He says no. I responded “so then the issue is not whether I got it from here or not?”. He relented and allowed me to exchange, but it boggles my mind that you would treat a customer who just spent $150 with you that way over $2 worth of expired soda. This is a review of the new owners who recently bought the store, not of the previous owners. When I first went in the store shortly after the new owners took over, there were five men stocking the shelves, none of whom wore masks. I made eye contact with them, so they clearly knew that a customer was in the store. I even asked them to confirm that they were open, which they were. Another time I walked by the store, and there was a man behind the counter not wearing a mask while customers were at the cash register. This is not only unsafe, but this is illegal.
