New York Halal Pizza — Restaurant in Rogers Park Township

I don't really understand how this place has such great reviews. Pizza was alright. 3 out of 5 stars on the pizza itself and that's me being nice since the guy on the phone was friendly but I'm subtracting a star for the price. Very expensive. For pizza delivery within a mile, my total was $23 (tip not included) for a side of ranch dressing and a medium pizza, half pepperoni, half basil. It felt like they weren't even sure what to charge me, I could hear them over the phone discussing the price, which they settled on $22.08. Delivery was fast. Guy was friendly and apologized and said it was actually $23. Pizza didn't taste too fresh and was very tiny. It reminded me of frozen pizza. It was about as fulfilling as a Tombstone pizza. Let me start this off by saying I live in the neighborhood, literally 2 blocks away from this place. I called for delivery because I was feeling very weak at the time and the guy who answered the phone said that they didn't have a delivery driver but can they call me back when they do, and I'm like "weird, but ok yeah give me a call back" so 40 mins later the guy calls me back and says "ok I have a driver but you have to pay him $5 + tip to deliver to you and then he proceeded to argue with me after I said that's outrages... I am required to tip the driver, paying him is the restaurant responsibility not to mention I'm only 2 blocks away and moreover waited 40 mins for you to even find a driver... very...

My husband has been eating the Mediterranean Gyro Pizza non-stop since I found it online (he’s welcome😌). He honestly gets it 2-3x a week. The first couple of times he raved about it but I didn’t try it.

Now after having it I must aver and confirm that it is in fact a very delectable Pizza. The owner is also very nice, and dependable and we appreciate him very much. Once I was sick (pregnant) and craving his pizza. He drove an hour from his home to open up and make it for me (He didn’t tell us he was doing that until after). Either way his food is of the best in Chicago and I’ll never let my husband forget that I am the reason why he found his favorite pizza and I’m sure he will be getting it...
