This restaurant is amazing. I'd never had Uyghur food before, although I have enjoyed other Central Asian food. The #1 word I would choose to describe this place is "hospitable". The servers were extremely helpful with assisting us in figuering out non-spicy options for our group of spice wimps. In our party of four we ordered plov, manty, and lagman. All were delicious & amazing. Lagman is going to be a new favorite dish for me. After dinner the servers brought us two free slices of honey cake to try - goodness gracious, make sure you order some if they don't give it to you. The atmosphere was also beautiful, it was a sparkling clean space that had been tastefully and sleekly decorated. The only disappointment in our experience was that there was no kompote available when we came in, but hey! I welcome another excuse to go back. With a menu ranging between spicy and mild, the warm & welcoming service, and delicious food, this spot easily earns its five star rating and is sure to be a...
Read moreAmazing experience mostly because of our amazing server Ulugbek! Thank you for your hospitality and warm welcoming! We were so hungry and excited to eat central Asian cuisine that I even forgot to take pictures beforehand. So sorry for my sloppy pics. Unfortunately some of the menu items weren’t available, but gladly we still enjoyed our time in there. We had manty, shorpo, kotlets, samsa, kompot, and tea. Love how they serve manty with generous amount of sour cream and dill. Shorpo was so good especially meat with the bones part. Kotlets were not as good as I would have expected to be honest but the rice with noodles is something different and unique. Tea is amazingly delicious, and kompot was so good and brings back childhood memories. Hopefully next time we get to have blinchiki with farmers cheese, and medovik honey cake ! We love desserts so can’t wait to try...
Read moreI visited Alif with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. The service was slow and inattentive, with long stretches of time between courses and a noticeable lack of enthusiasm from our server.
The food was also underwhelming, with my main dish arriving lukewarm and lacking flavor. The portion sizes were small, especially considering the prices. The atmosphere was lacking, with uncomfortable seating and a noisy environment that made conversation difficult.
Especially I heard how they are treat their employees, they give them used bread after customers.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at Alif and would not recommend it to others. With so many great dining options available, I wouldn't suggest wasting your time...
