My son and friend had gone to this restaurant and the food was alright and quite mediocre, but the service was just terrible they were impatient and rude to my son who was not ready at the moment and pushed them to the brink of tears. The waitress we had was a plump and short lady who was extremely rude who shouldn't be treating the costumers with disrespect and saying "she has better things to do" and that "it is not her job to wait" (her job is literally wait-ress) or that she has better things to do while working. The WAITRESS shouldn't be treating the costumers with disrespect. Second off after that fiasco they took more then a whole hour to prepare my small meal for 3 that should have been done at the max in 30 min and after arriving it wasn't even worth the wait, being bland and tastless to the point of the only good thing in their resturant was an old Philapino dish washer in the back.(tbh The salasa was not a fiesta and more like a siesta). So in a whole I highly recommend going to another resturant until they get their servers in check...
Read moreABSOLUTELY THE BEST.!!!Where should I even start?! Very cozy and a very clean place. The waitress was very nice and welcoming. The food was some of the best if not, THE best I have had the pleasure of trying. Truly authentic and all home made with love, and it definitely showed. I mean even the tortillas were out of this world. I ordered the Chimichanga and it was hands down the best I have ever had. Fried to perfection with a superb crisp while still having a little chew left on the inside of the tortilla. Was perfectly filled and rolled and was presented beautifully. The Queso Fondido was so amazing too.! I don't have words to describe its glory and the flavor it left ruminating in my palate. I couldn't get enough of it that's for sure. I still am amazed and blown away by this place I couldn't go without leaving a review. Sorry for the lengthy description but it was truly a gem and worth every penny. Prices are low and the food is amazing. I will definitely be coming here...
Read moreWe ordered delivery without realizing it was before closing, but they were so courteous upon arrival, as well as being extremely prompt on a Wednesday evening. Everything was carefully packaged, including complementary beautiful and fresh green and red salsas, a generous 16 oz tub of guacamole of exceptional quality, among our haul of delicious, steaming tacos and sopes. I also ordered a tamale for later, which is described on the menu as “prepared with ash and steamed in a banana leaf”, which I have not encountered before, and it appears to be flatter and longer than the many I have eaten before in my life. All of which is to say, Restaurante Cuetzala definitely offers something special from a taste of their home, adding a distinct highlight to the dining offerings on Chicago’s North side. I will always...
