I was there new years eve @320 I called ahead and was told to come early i met a friend i grew up with we each had a salad,we shared a large pizza with extra ingredients. As we were catching up i am being mindful this is new years eve. The waitress asked if there was anything else so we decided for 2 deserts and two coffees. They have a small dining room with additionL seating outside with 2 heaters. As it became more busy this man and woman who i assume are owners began to clean arou d us spraying cleaning solution on our table and us, loudly rearranging chairs and tables. I include this because t that time we were the only african americans there. There was another couple that was there an asian man and white woman who was there when we arrived. And 2 white ladies that arrived maybe 5min after we were seated. I say this because they were allowed to exist in peace. I even paid my bill early and tipped my waitress because i wanted to leave after coffee. A gwm couple enters and i hear the blonde lady say it will be a few minutes she needs to clear some tables. She then goes to the asian dudes table and asked if he wanted anything else and he didn't even have his check. She then comes to our table and says we need to leave cause there is a limit and we need to go. I explained that we were just finishing dessert and coffee. And she said we needed to leave. So i told my friend we need to leave...our money is welcome here but we are not. The way we were treated was embarrassing and rude. If you patron this business after reading this you are knowingly contributing to a racist. The irony is that i found this place on IG chicago bucket list. I walked my friend to her car and apologized for our experience because i recommended this place. Walking to my car i saw the 2 ladies that was came in after us and i joked said got kicked out also? they apologized and said chicago is not like that. I think its more of the lense that we live in. TBH I've had more of these encounters in Chicago however this one i chose to speak on
To Owners - Its really poor leadership to blame your wait staff for you're lack of experience in turning tables. We did not get a chance to finish our coffee and dessert. Instead of offering options to perhaps turn the heaters on and finish on the patio - we were yelled at to leave. In no world can I believe your words are a sincere apology. Some advice? you show your customers you value them by how you treat them - Not yelling and embarrassing them in public. If people read this and continue to patron your business? They are literally contributing to...
Read moream going to edit my original review and change the rating. My reason for giving the original two-star rating was valid and fair, based on the experience at the time I posted the review. After posting the review, I was contacted by the Owner who I believe has made a reasonable effort to correct the wrong and, more importantly, to ensure that no one else has an experience such as I had. This updated review is based upon the overall taste and quality of my order to include those parts of the original order that were good from the beginning along with the replacement pizza received the following day. The second pizza was a good example of what a pizza should be. Backstory without going into a whole lot of detail. This past Friday I placed an order from Anto Pizza for delivery. The order included a pizza along with arancini and two pastas. My husband thought the Spaghetti Carbonara was very good. While I did not care for the Vegan Spaghetti, my Sister liked it a lot so I have to consider that it just did not agree with my taste buds so that is not a problem. We all enjoyed the arancini. The pizza was a different story - the crust was burned. I was not pleased with the original response to my complaint about the pizza but after the Owner became aware of my review and saw the pictures of the pizza, he responded as he should have. He replaced the pizza and he apologized for my experience. More importantly, he has assured me that quality control will be more stringent and he promised me that no one else will experience what I did. I know restaurant work is hard. I also know that building a business and keeping it going, especially in these times is extremely difficult. I decided that the overall response to my complaint was caring and no one is always perfect, so i am going to give Anto Pizza another chance (but I'll be watching) and I am going to base my review on the overall good, not the one thing...
Read morePasta in a cone! It’s a real thing and far more than a novelty way to serve spaghetti. No wonder it went viral! Designed by the chef and owner of @antopizzachicago, the cones serve a purpose that you appreciate while dining in and taking to-go. This popular Roger’s Park spot has been serving Italian Street Food to a customer base that lives near and far to their neighborhood location. First, order the Homemade Lemon Linguini. The freshly made pasta and sauce and huge shrimp are beyond delicious. But that cone brings a bonus as it keeps the sauce HOT which makes it adhere to the pasta even more. That means lemony flavor in every bite. There is a reason this is a customer favorite! 🍋🍤 The Homemade Tortellini Vodka is also served in the cone which enhances the creamy texture of the sauce and ricotta cheese inside the tortellini with the fresh pasta.🍅🍝 Definitely order the Fried Calamari. It’s a light coating so the seafood flavor comes through.🦑 The Arancini is a must for the start of your meal. Made-from-scratch recipe with Italian Arborio rice, peas, mozzarella, parmesan and surrounded by marinara sauce that just bursts with flavor.🫛🍚🍅 Add the Hand Cut Mozzarella Sticks to your appetizers for some melty cheesy goodness. Pizzas are made with flour and olive oil from Italy. The Margherita crust was chewy with the brightness of the sauce coming through in every bite. 🍕 Dessert: Order the Tiramisu. Even if you think you are full. Order the Tiramisu. Made with mascarpone cheese (not cream cheese!) and so balanced with the classic flavors of this Italian specialty. Cannolis have a light, crispy shell and rich filling. That first bite is so good. Anto Pizza and Pasta’s menu is diverse and all homemade. Go and try a selection of dishes. ⭐️Oh, and don’t miss that last image in the video for a...
