I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. My family walked in 30 min before closing, but they were happy to seat us. My kids LOVED everything they tried from the pico to the flautas, tacos, fajitas to the burrito to the flan. It was all fantastic! They recognized the setting and were very excited to find a "new" favorite restaurant. We have only lived here 10 months and have tried so many taquerias and mexican restaurants. We haven't been willing to go back to any of them a second time. This is a completely different story! I am over the moon excited about this place. The kids loved the horchata. The jamaica needed more sugar for my other kiddo, but that was the only complaint. My husband prefers it not so sweet, so it's a personal preference. I highly recommend you check this out!

This is the newest gem in Rogers Park! A lovely family owns this place and it feels so. We tried al pastor and asada tacos and quesabirrias and loved them. The complimentary salsa that came with chips was amazingly flavorful, borderline addictive. The son who runs front of the house was so friendly and so kind to everyone. I heard him taking his time explaining menu items and making adjustments for multiple customers. He was making everyone feel SO welcome and I loved that. He asked if it was our first time there, when we said yes he told us dessert would be on the house. We were in a little hurry but they didn’t take no for an answer and gave us a churro to go. It’s the little things that makes hearts warm. Honestly I can’t wait to go back and try more of their food.

Okay, so I'll start with what I didn't like to get ot out of the way...so I got the flautas with rice and beans. And my boyfriend got the enchiladas, so for me the flautas were good and the hot suace that came with it was also very good, but for the beans...they literally gave me like 4 tbs or less of beans. Also, the rice lacked much flavor. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Now for my boyfriends plate, the enchiladas were soaked in sauce...it was almost a soup. Now with all of thay out of the way, I will say the flautas were good with the hot sauce, and we both ate our plates because it wasn't terrible...I just feel like maybe they were a little too busy and rushed our order out the door unfortunately. But the people there were nice.

Akay Tacos: A Flavor Fiesta! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Akay Tacos, and let me tell you—it’s a hidden gem! Here’s why I highly recommend this spot: Authenticity: Akay Tacos serves up some of the most authentic Mexican street-style tacos I’ve ever tasted. From the first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. Variety: The menu offers a delightful range of options. Whether you’re a carnivore, vegetarian, or seafood lover, there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss their al pastor tacos—they’re a game-changer! Freshness: The ingredients are incredibly fresh. The tortillas are soft and warm, and the fillings burst with flavor. You can taste the love and care that goes into each taco. Friendly Atmosphere: The staff at Akay Tacos are friendly and welcoming. It feels like you’re visiting a friend’s kitchen. Plus, the colorful decor adds to the overall vibe. Bang for Your Buck: The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality. You’ll leave satisfied without...
