My first time visiting and I adore this store. They have a really fun selection of anime merch, and it's amazing that they carry Studio Ghibli items as well. I mostly came by for the store, but also enjoyed the Boba tea - although not 100% sure it's for me, I'll still come to check out the cute items! The people working there are also amazingly nice, and if you have any anxiety check out their 360 shop walk through on their website! I bought a chocobo moogle that I love and have never seen in person before, my only downside to it was that it was out of the box already and handled some. I had hoped they would have a clean new one ready to buy, but it is a rare item and worth buying anyways. I also picked up some soot sprite and calcifer socks, which are so fun and it's lovely to see so much Studio Ghibli merch. They also had quite a few new animes, as well as some classics like Naruto and Pokemon. Any anime lover should come here, whether they're kids or adults!
(Thank you for your kind response on the moogle, I wrote this before getting the moogle all cleaned up and he looks amazing now!! I will 100% treasure him, thank you so much for letting...
Read moreThe Anime Café is absolutely the best place in North West Arkansas to get boba tea, mochi ice cream, Japanese snacks, and anime items. The boba is by far the tastiest I have ever had, and there are so many yummy flavors to choose from. There is a wide range of snacks with a special baked goods on certain days (currently Tuesdays and Saturdays). The staff are fast and friendly. You can watch anime while you wait for your drink or peruse through the plushies, clothing items, figurines, buttons/pins, and much more. I proudly support this small business and am quick to tell my friends/family about them.
Edit: I just wanted to add more positive notes about this absolutely wonderful small business! The always have delicious flavors of boba tea, but their special drinks for holidays/special events are incredibly imaginative and aesthetically pleasing (the sakura and birthday cake teas were my personal favorites). They put so much work into not just their drinks but also creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone of all ages. The owners and staff are friendly and outgoing. I never leave without a...
Read moreThis is a very cute cafe. Lots of bubble tea choices, taiyaki flavors that change regularly, and mochi ice cream. An anime plays on a large screen TV, and the shelves are filled with memorabilia. The staff (and owner?) are all very friendly, too.
The only downside is the occasional customer. Every other time I've been, there's been a customer that tried to monopolize the staff's time to talk at them, making it both difficult to order and uncomfortable to stay while enjoying your tea. An example would be one man who spoke for over twenty minutes about how his friend's upcoming trip to Japan and how he warned his friend not to "touch the girls" who worked there. Twenty. Minutes. Pretty uncomfortable to sit through while waiting for him to leave the counter so I could place an order.
This is probably par for the course with a place called Anime Cafe, but it can still be frustrating. It's still good bubble tea and taiyaki, and it's fun to watch the anime or look at the...
