I came here with high hopes. I've been seeing lots of cool videos highlighting Casa Alejo as a great stop for Mexican Food in NWA.

One word: Don't.

Upon entering, we were greeted nicely by a younger gentleman who sat us down in the front section of the restaurant quickly and efficiently. The ambience was nice, and we were given free warmed tortilla chips and salsa, (which tasted like pure Clamato), which were flimsy and then proceeded to wait 10 min for water (there was only two other tables..) We ordered the skillet nachos with chicken and three tacos with rice and beans--disappointing! The skillet nachos were only warm for 5 minutes, and the cheese was solid hard the moment it was served to us. The chicken was alright, and the guac could have more seasoning and texture. The chips were stuck to the solid cheese, and those that weren't were flimsier and thinner than paper. The tacos were so bad. The al pastor tasted like chorizo gone bad, and the carne asada was dry and thin. The onlv taco that was semi decent was the carnitas-- as it wasn't dry. The tacos didn't even come with any salsa, and you pretty much have to assemble it on your own. The rice was super salty, and you can taste the chicken bouillon in it. The beans had a foul aftertaste of something almost coffee like, which is very odd for beans. Upon paying we were asked if we wanted any to go boxes, and initially we said no, and decided to take them home and not waste by feeding to our chickens. The waiter was initially alright with our requests during our experience, (and we were very respectful), but upon changing our minds for the to go box, he was very rude, didn't respond, and walked off as he rolled his eyes. (He had a dragon ball z belt, so watch out!!) we were not even needy of any requests, and only asked for water once and a side of salsa (a different server fulfilled both of these requests...).

Would not recommend, and there are more amazing Mexican restaurants in...

From the attractive curbside appearance, to a well thought out and crisp interior design this had all the makings of a great dining experience. The place is clean and appearance of the employees was sharp. They had an attitude of people who really enjoy their work. Orders were taken quickly and drinks were delivered fast. When the food arrived it was visually appealing and looked to be delicious. Up to this point is was a near perfect evening of trying out a new restaurant. This is also when everything went down hill quick. The guacamole dip had great texture and presentation just like all the other meals. All the food looked like it would be excellent. The problem was it was not excellent. Someone needs to take the salt away from the cooks. Only one person in our party of eleven said the food was not very salty. I personally could not eat the guacamole dip and only ate two bites of the food. The cheese dip and salsa were the only items that were not loaded with excessive amounts of salt. Salt is a great addition to food but not when it is overbearing to the real taste of the food. I hope that this review will encourage the cooks to not salt the food so hard...

This place is the truth folks. Finally came here after several people recommended it to me. I eat this type of food minimum once a week as it’s my favorite. This place easily clears every where in NWA. Headlines: the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious.

The salsa is just about perfect for my preference. Smooth restaurant style with the right amount of cilantro. This is a make or break for me no matter how good the food is. 9/10.

Guacamole was shockingly delicious. They do not skimp you on this. They give you a healthy portion of freshly made guac that is absolutely delicious and creamy. I would come back just for the Guac. 10/10

Quesabirria. Best I’ve had. Hands down. The meat is tender, packed with flavor, and extremely filling. 10/10

We also got their version of a Steven special and it was good but failed to compare to the Quesabirria. I felt that it was tad over salted. The rice was fluffy and the meat was high quality. 7/10

Margarita was good, I got the lime one. It is a freshly made on the rock margarita that is better than most. 8/10

Overall, this place is fantastic. You can find me here weekly...

After hearing about the Fville location for quite some time, I was happy to stumble upon this newly opened spot in DTR. First time I grabbed some dips to go and last week we popped in for early dinner (on purpose because it was PACKED at 8pm the last time we were by). I can see why! Lovely staff when I ordered to go at the bar and upon our dine in. Hibiscus Margarita was delicious and generous. We ordered the Fundito flautas with Birria to start. It was so good we decided to keep the theme and ordered the birria pizza and tacos. It was all perfectly done. Big, satisfying flavors and one of the best birrias in the area. I preferred the corn tortillas, my hubs like the flour…but both were crispy out, soft in and the servings were generous. The games were on and the bar side looks like fun. We had great and speedy service. We will be back to try more of the menu…but will always be ready for more birria.

Tried Casa Alejo for the first time last night and we loved it. We loved the atmosphere- the music, the lighting, and the modern design. We loved the service. The hostesses were friendly as was our waitress. She forgot one of the entrees we ordered, but quickly brought it out when we asked for it again. Food was phenomenal. We got the guac which tasted very fresh and full of flavor. We got the pizza birria which was loaded with cheese and meet and the seasoning was fantastic. We also got the arrachera (carne asada). My only complaint about that one was that there wasn’t more of it ;). Needless to say we’ll be back very soon!
