My husband and I had lunch here and were hopeful for a new lunch date spot but we will were left sadly disappointed. Upon entering the building it looked hopeful with the neon lights and bubbling ship display, Sakura tree surrounded by the large steaming food buffet; but this is where the decor ends. The walls are very barren, there is no other decor in the expansive dining area. The window tint has come apart in the middle of windows, there is globs of glue all over from installing the window frames and wall paneling, and some of the old holes in the wall, from whatever restaurant decor was there previously, is poorly spackled. My husband compared it to an old military mess hall. Our service wasn't bad, the staff was friendly enough, but drinks were filled only because we sat directly outside the wait station and we made it clear when we needed a refill. Our used plates were only removed as we paid the check to leave. The food was hot and appeared pretty fresh, however they focused on variety over flavor. Most of the sushi wasn't anything recognizable (most being made with egg and krab stick), the flavors of most dishes were bland and left something to be desired, and the fruit and jello were already dried out. I found that the mushrooms in the buttered mushrooms were unwashed and still covered in the dirt they were grown in and the single crawfish I had was akin to low tide in the bayou; that was it for my appetite. My husband and I both ended up with upset digestive systems several hours following and into the next day. Over all not a...
Read moreFlaming Grill Super Buffet, 21st & Walnut Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Six Stars! Four of us showed up for dinner and a small birthday celebration. Really nice people! Really good food selection! Excellent service! We approached the evening intent on them enjoying it as much as we planned to. And they did! The entire floor staff even sang Happy Birthday to my daughter!
They have an almost dizzying selection of entrees, from chicken to shrimp, to beef, to crayfish, to octopus, to clams/oysters, to sushi, etc. Everything i had was very good. (See above...)
They had a great seafood boil. I did not try it but it looked spectacular. The crayfish tails were all tightly curled under. Everything was very fresh looking throughout!
All kinds of tastey-looking deserts, fruits, puddings, etc. We brought our own birthday cake though.
I recommend this buffet very highly. The best way to understand how good Flaming Grill is, is to experience it first...
Read moreFlaming Grill Buffet really impressed me. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and one of the biggest highlights was their dim sum bar—something I haven’t seen at any other buffet. They offer short ribs, chicken feet, siu mai, and more, all served in traditional wooden steamers.
One small suggestion: it would help to have a staff member nearby to guide guests unfamiliar with dim sum. I saw people taking just a few pieces of short ribs or chicken feet from the steamers, not realizing they’re meant to take the whole plate. A little signage or assistance would go a long way.
Another standout: they offer salmon sashimi! That’s rare for buffets, and it was fresh and delicious—definitely a highlight.
That said, the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. Hands down, I’ll be coming back soon. Great variety, great service, and some truly...
