Sounds like we’ve had similar experiences as another reviewer. We too love Tacos for Life, but this location…ugh. 2 months ago my husband was trying to place an order for pick up over the phone. The women who answered said that they were very busy and she would need to place him on hold for possibly 10 min before she could take his order. As we weren’t in any rush that day he let her know that’s not a problem. She then replied, “well it’s actually going be much longer and that’s if I’ll even be able to get to you at all.” Was very disappointed with that experience, but decided to chalk it up to maybe they were really short staffed or something was beyond their control that day.
Since then we’ve ordered there a couple more times with either food missing, wrong items, or items looking as if they were thrown together very quickly. Granted, these can be the norm when deciding to get fast food. However, last nights visit was just awful. Pulled up around 6:45’ish to place our order at the speaker. After waiting a few mins a women came on and said, “sorry we’re not taking any drive through orders for the next 30-40 minutes.” Just kinda bizarre..never been told this before at any other drive-thru’s. They’ve either asked to pls pull forward or to park somewhere that they would bring order to you in a few minutes. So, we decided to try calling in an order for pick up instead. A nice young lady took our order and said that it would be ready in about 10 min🤷🏼♀️.
After waiting we pulled up to the window and saw around 5 or so employees. A couple of them looked to be genuinely working hard going back and forth from the kitchen grabbing orders, etc. The other employees were just laughing and chattin it up with each other, while another enjoyed eating some food while in the kitchen/drive thru area. Felt really bad for the other employees who looked to be the only ones doing any work. Was handed our food, but had to get their attention we needed our drinks.
Finally, after getting home saw our order was wrong. Luckily nothing missing, just added an extra kids meal. Sadly again it looked like someone was rushed..grabbed a soft shell tortilla, slapped some beans that halfway made it on the shell, then flapped one side over.
I honestly hate writing this bad review…I really like TFL’s cause, food is usually always fresh with good variety of items, and tastes really, really good. It’s because we’ve had good experiences at their other locations that we know what this location could/should be. Hopefully some changes will be...
Read moreI'm not usually the type to leave reviews and such, but my wife and I had a recent experience that will ensure we do not go back to this location. We ordered online (easier to pick up with kids) and my wife went to pick up the order by following the instructions and parking in a curbside spot and calling to the store. A worker informed her that they were really busy and could not send anyone out to deliver the food to the curbside spots and asked if she could join the drive-thru line to get our food. 1) If you cannot complete something you offer, then way offer it in the first place? But, she jumped in the line to help make it easier on the staff. While in line, she sees other cars pull into the curbside spots she left minutes ago and team members taking their orders out to them. I thought they were unable to send people out? Our pick up time was 5:50. It was now 6:15 when she called again, still in the line, to ask if there was any way she could either come inside or pull up to grab our to go order for fear of it getting cold. Someone told her to pull up and quickly came out to the car. The order was wrong and was missing most of our stuff except a taco for our son. So they went back in to fix it. 20 minutes go by and she has not heard anything. It has now been close to an hour from our pick up time. She calls again and checks on the order and finally gets the answer that someone is bringing the food our way. The worker came to the car and said "sorry" and went back inside. My wife said she has never experienced such poor customer service anywhere else. I understand being busy, but to offer a service and not follow through with it with one customer just to turn around and start offering it again while making another wait for an hour is ridiculous.
I called the store to speak to a manager just to let them know we do not want this type of service to happen to anyone else. The manager was short, cut me off multiple times mid sentence, and was very defensive and made excuses for the whole situation. As I was talking about the whole situation toward the end, the guy on the phone hung up on me. Yes, I will admit I was angry at how my wife was treated and came across aggressive, but even the phone call with the "manager" was unprofessional.
Needless to say, we will not come back to the...
Read moreI ordered off Doordash, and I have to say that it arrived quickly. I tried the chips once when my workplace catered Tacos4Life and they were yummy. I thought why not try the tacos. I'll tell you why. My tacos were cold. I ordered a Mahi Mahi taco and a Tofu taco (both on flour tortillas) I ate 1/4 of each. Full disclosure, I am pescatarian, so tofu and fish are something I eat super frequently. The Mahi Mahi was super fishy (refer back... I LOVE fish)... these were not good fishy, they were mishandled meat fishy. I stopped out of fear for my digestive system. Then I moved onto the tofu taco. Both I felt like were being held hostage by the wrappers, overfilled and incredibly hard to handle. The tofu was good, the slaw was great, the lime was perfectly fresh, but the tortilla was stale and permanently affixed to the wrapper. I didn't see the point in fighting for it, so I gave up on that.
I also ordered chips with salsa and a small side of queso. The chips I had at work were beautifully seasoned and I liked them a lot. The chips I received tonight were stale and only 3 of them had any seasoning on them.. seriously, I counted. The queso was... well, it had a Velveeta-like quality. That's a personal choice, so you can decide how you feel about that. The salsa was not spicy at all, which for me is a let down, but, and I mean BUT... it was addicting and I don't eat mild salsa because that feels like torture. It was so fresh and delicious with a vibrant cilantro flavor that wasn't the least bit overpowering which cilantro easily can be. It caused me to eat half a bag of the stale chips because it was that good, and I couldn't stop. I did try to use it to fix the tacos, but sadly it's magic wasn't that strong. I do think, in hindsight, I should have just drank it. Like for real, so good!!!
In conclusion, I wouldn't eat there again. It made me less mad that my kids are the only people I've ever met that don't enjoy tacos. If the salsa had been even slightly spicy, I would be able to forgive the rest and still super disappointed in my children for their busted taste buds.
If you hate spicy food, go ahead and invest in a salsa subscription though So good! Finely chopped veggies, and needs regular stirring around due to consistency. It's just Scovilles...
