On 3/24/25 myself and a guest decided to visit this steakhouse while out of town on Vacation celebrating my Birthday. After flying five hours to California, with empty stomaches we settled on this Steakhouse. As we walked in there was a young lady with a black face mask on that greeted us and asked if we were dining in? We said yes and was immediately escorted to a table. It was approximately 8:00pm and there was visibly four tables occupied. One that looked like a business dinner in progress, two tables with a couple and the last one a woman with three gentleman. We proceeded to order our food, took in the lovely Ambience of the restaurant and waited for our food to come out. The plates came out at exactly 9:10pm and we began to eat. Before I could even carve into the Lambchops I had ordered, the waitress named TARA I believe (blonde hair with black eyeglasses) walks over and asks how is everything? We said everything was good. She then walks away the entire time being “laser focused” on our table specifically. It had begun to make us feel uncomfortable. After three minutes had passed, she walks back over to us again asking if everything was ok? We said yes! This had went on for at least six more times before I started to wonder what really is the issue at hand? Then she says, well we are about to close at 10:00p, so before we send the dessert ppl home do you “girls” not Ladies want dessert? We said NO! Thinking that we could finish our meal in peace? She returns with the Busboy and starts to clear the table, and offering “doggy bags” I told her I was still working on my plate! That didn’t seem to matter because she emphasized again that they close at 10p. Not only was it my birthday and so disappointing because I have never ever felt so rushed in my damn life at what I thought was a “classy establishment” to finish my food or take a doggy bag, that I was immediately disgusted!!! I informed her that it was my birthday and that I really expected more from this type of restaurant. She immediately started to feel guilty and said “oh my gosh, why didn’t you say something? Do you want dessert?” I said, what? You just told us 30mins ago the dessert ppl went home? She paused and then said yea, comeback tomorrow and I’ll give you dessert on me.” All the while let me remind you, the restaurant was not fully empty as there was one other table left with four ppl (a heavyset white Ladi and 3gentlemen) who was clearly relaxed, not rushed and still sipping their bottle of wine, and it was now 10:38p. What was so special that they weren’t told get out after paying for a meal that was well over $100. Moving forward, either you retrain your waitress ( TARA) on server etiquette and interacting with ppl of different backgrounds/ cultures, or face more and more issues of this sort down the line in the future. If you don’t want to work until closing time, voice that with your boss, if you want your customers gone before closing/ clean up time, don’t bring full dinner plates out the kitchen at 9:10p and expect it to be consumed by the customer within 15mins. I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN & I made sure to post this experience on my social media page. At the end of the Day, Courtesy goes a long way regardless of race, color or creed because it just might affect your Bottom...
Read moreWhile the food and service were excellent, there are a few issues that people should be aware of before coming to this restaurant. The only access to the restaurant is through a CIGARETTE SMOKE FILLED casino hall! That should be illegal, oh wait, IT IS!!! But no, this is on an indian reservation where they are allowed to completely disregard my health and state law. I am asthmatic especially this time of year (spring) and I had constricted breathing and coughing by the time we got to the restaurant. Since the door to the restaurant is left wide open to the casino, 3/4 the restaurant smells like cigarettes. That is exactly what I want to smell when I am eating a $60 steak. We asked to be seated as far away from the front as possible. Even then, you could still smell it. Not sure why I did not turn around and leave right then and there. The one time I had to use the restroom, I had to hold my breath when approaching and leaving the restroom area which is by the front entrance. Luckily, the air in the restroom itself was clear.
We brought our own bottle of wine since we just picked our wine club shipment, but I failed to ask what the corkage was before he opened it. When I did eventually ask, the server said $30!! My head almost exploded. $30 corkage is beyond excessive especially in wine country where it is not uncommon for people to bring in wine they just picked up from a local winery. And the menu was pretty pricey but by then we were already committed (our bottle of wine was open). So I had to just let it go so I could enjoy the date with my wife. Like I said, the food and service was excellent which helped them recover from my initial experience. The manager was able to arrange with security that we leave out the emergency exit to the outside so I did not have be subjected to potentially deadly cigarette smoke just to leave...
Read moreThis is probably my 6th time eating here, and the food is always good, almost great. The service is typically good, but tonight, we were ignored by the hostess when we arrived as the hostess and a waiter had a private discussion right in front of us and ignored us even though we were standing right in front of them. It was pretty rude, but then she did apologize. Every time we go, we order the beef carpaccio, and it is divine. The best I have ever had, the crispy capers, cheese, pickles, and dressing all go so well together. The French onion soup is delicious as well, and we order that every time. Tonight, I had 8 oz filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly but needed a little extra seasoning. I know it's a sin to order fried chicken at a steak house, but the fried chicken is so good. Its light, cripsy, moist, really good fried chicken, the gravy is good as well. It's a must try. For the sides, we had the sautéed mushrooms and augratin potatoes. The mushrooms were just ok, but the potatoes were superb. They had little pieces of bacon and crispy bread crumbs on top. I'll order those again. For desert, we had the oreo begniets, which came with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. They were great. The server was top notch, his name was Daniel. My wife also had a Cosmo, and she really enjoyed it. It's a good steak house. The prices are a bit high, but it's expected when it's connected...
