I visited Ecig101 recently and wanted to share an honest experience.
From the moment I walked in, the store had a peculiar ambiance. The décor felt somewhat haphazard, and the general vibe was a bit off—there was an undercurrent of awkwardness in how staff interacted with customers. It didn’t feel like a warm, welcoming boutique; more like a place trying hard to manufacture charm, but missing the mark.
My discomfort grew more as my visit progressed. It became clear that the people currently running the place are not the original owners, and their behavior struck me as unprofessional and in some cases, sketchy. One person — introduced to me as Jasmine — made several statements that were unsettling: she openly declared she “hates California,” claimed she created the store, and made references to selling drugs (comments she made in casual conversation). These remarks made me question both the legitimacy and ethics of the business operations.
What distressed me further was the staff’s repeated attempts to incentivize writing reviews in exchange for discounts. At multiple points, Jasmine (or her associates) urged me — often directly — to post a positive online review, promising a discount or benefit if I did so. Not only does this feel manipulative and uncomfortable, but it also runs counter to many review platform policies (and, in some places, may skirt legal or ethical boundaries). A business pressuring or paying for favorable reviews undermines trust with customers.
That said, I do want to acknowledge a few positive aspects: the store did have interesting products (though I can’t fully vouch for their sourcing or quality). The layout was somewhat functional, even if the styling was inconsistent. If this place were under more stable and trustworthy management, there might be potential.
Final thoughts / takeaway for prospective customers • Be cautious: the people running the store now appear to be operating under very different standards than the original owners. • Don’t feel pressured: you should never be coerced into leaving a glowing review just to get a discount. • Take claims made by staff (especially about their identity, how the business is run, or illegal activity) with skepticism and verify independently if possible. • If you choose to shop there, try to remain alert, document your purchases, and use discretionary judgment.
If I were to score this place, I’d land around 1 out of 5 stars. There’s potential in the concept, but the current management and their behavior undercut...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of eCig 101 for 15 years, starting with their grand opening. I’ve consistently visited every two weeks, and my husband is also a regular customer.
Unfortunately, my most recent visit left me very disappointed. While I was there, two men (one older, one younger) were lingering near the employee working the counter and very obviously staring at her inappropriately while she helped customers. As a female regular, it was uncomfortable to witness, and it made the entire environment feel unsettling. It was concerning enough that I even asked the employee if the men were bothering her.
Additionally, the store’s social media presence has shifted over time and, in my opinion, has become less tasteful and somewhat embarrassing compared to what it used to be. The vibe of the store itself feels like it’s gone downhill.
eCig 101 was once a fantastic, family-owned business run by Nate, and I always enjoyed supporting it. Sadly, I no longer feel the same confidence or comfort...
Read moreI’ve been coming here since the year they opened and this is still my favorite vape shop in Sonoma County by far. Selection, pricing, and service are usually excellent! I took a star away because they’re constantly running out of stock of my favorite liquid - well over half the times that I attempt to get it, it’s out, and this has been going on for well over a year. I’ve asked a few times if they could please stock more and was told that the amount they stock is based on how much they sell. I don’t understand. If you only order a fixed amount and sell out of that fixed amount early over and over, doesn’t it stand to reason that this is a high-demand product, and if you stocked more you’d sell more? They did offer me the option of special ordering it at a premium, but I really just wish they kept more in stock so I wouldn’t have to call ahead each time to see if...
