I was a little afraid of coming here after seeing the few reviews here being negative, and the one 5 star having nothing to say.
But, I have been missing Wing Stop since they left my town years ago (and they are coming back but still under construction) and a friend of mine made me aware one in RP opened up.
So, I chanced it...
And I am happy to say this place isn't as bad as the first early comments say.
Now I can't speak to their experiences, and it is possible the problems may have been bad timing or earlier staff issues before new staff came in or better etiquette was established. This is simply my experience.
It wasn't pretty busy, but I wasn't expecting my wings to be done so quickly. Took only less than 5 minutes for a 6 bone-in meal. I did get the veggie sticks (no fries, I'm already cheating a bit while on a diet so watching my calories). And just an unsweetened iced tea to wash it down. Tables are clean, a little wobbly but I expect that pretty much every where nowadays unfortunately. But chairs are surprisingly comfortable. Music is a bit loud, they could turn that down just a bit, but not very off-putting (admittedly, I had and usually do listening my own music/YouTube vids/podcasts when I go out to eat).
So how is the wings...
My god. Melt...from...the bone.
Perhaps this was just a very good day to get wings from this place. Perhaps me requesting extra crispy and my favorite flavors (Louisiana Run (missed this so much) and Mango Habanero) was enough. Again; maybe the cooks are working better on their craft to put out better food then after they first opened. Again, this is my experience, but the bone-in chicken was extremely delicious!
So I leave it up to you if you want to take a chance with the RP Wing Stops, but my first visit experience (dining in to clarify) did not disappoint me.
So (this must be my 3rd or 4th So now, hehe)...why only 4 stars?
Again; music could be turned down just a little bit. It was a bit hard to talk to the cashier/order taker when I was placing my order and we were both clarifying what we were saying. Would also be nicer to have real napkins instead of paper towels. So I have to honestly that it's not perfect, and I haven't tried the fries or other items yet. So if this review allows me to change my stars later we will see if it changes. Of course; that may not be until a few months. No more cheating on my diet after today.
But Gosh, I don't feel that much...
Read moreTerrible Service. TERRIBLE FOOD … TERRIBLE PARKING. We asked for BONELESS and the lady repeated it to us. We were in the restaurant. She repeated BONELESS MANGO HABANERO and I made sure to ask her again , “BONELESS CORRECT”. She said with a smile yes boneless. Then my son orders BONELESS CAJUN. We get our order and take it home. NOTHING BUT BONES. AND THE WORST CHICKEN I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS. IM SURE IT WASNT CHICKEN. so then I call to ask her how she could have messed up the order if we were in there talking to her in person and she confirmed BONELESS. but over the phone she tells me that she heard us say “BONE IN” not “BONELESS”… When we clearly heard her repeat to us , BONELESS…. Anyway , the cashier girl was a straight BONEHEAD with BONE IN and SPINELESS .. wouldn’t give us refund or apology or no acknowledgement that she screwed up. Totally furious. And MORE EXPENSIVE THAN ANY OTHER CHICKEN PLACE. LOUSY STAFF . LOUSY QUALITY OF FOOD. EXPENSIVE PRICES. and don’t expect refund when they screw u for what u...
Read moreUpon entering, I was greeted immediately, which was nice. The inside is a standard fast food restaurant, reminded me of subway. The girl at the counter was nice and helpful as this was my first time eating here. She recommended the mango habenero wings, which I tried, and I also go the Korean style with fries and soda. It was 14$ plus tax and included 6 wings total, I actually received 4 of each type that I ordered. My order came out quick, and the wings weren't that hot. The breading was too thick for my liking, I prefer a little less breading. The mango habanero was actually pretty good, and I didn't really care for the Korean style. The fries had way too much salt on them. I had to wipe them off with a napkin before eating them. I could also hear the cooks goofing around while i ate, it didnt bother me but some folks may not like that. I had wanted to try eating here for a while since i love crispy chicken and I left not being impressed, probably the last time...
