Had a pleasant experience at 24, until I asked the front desk to cancel my plan, as I was returning to school (free gym). Of course, after being guaranteed that "once the manager returned in a few hours," my request would be fulfilled. A week passes, and I was actually working out at the 24 hour in Santa Rosa, when curiously I asked a representative about my plan. Low and behold, no one actually went about cancelling my membership at Rohnert Park. Luckily, the representatives at the Santa Rosa gym are trained in the art of pressing the "cancel" button. It took the kind man at Santa Rosa maybe 5 seconds to cancel, and print me a receipt.
This is irritating. I carefully maintain my balance in my bank as to never overcharge my account, sending a sizeable portion of my paycheck to my savings. I knew the exact day to cancel my contract as to not get charged for another month. Low and behold, I overcharged my account 95 dollars (two accounts under my name). Oh yeah, it was also pretty cool as I was embarrassingly returned my credit card in the middle of paying for a dinner due to insufficient funds. Hm.
If your front desk assistants at Rohnert Park can only hand out towels and gym equipment, or maybe sell you a protein bar or Gatorade, and cannot/will not go about dealing with membership issues, there is probably a problem with how you are conducting your business. Unless it was...
Read moreTonight was my worst experience at 24 hour fitness . Usually, I work out alone then after my workout, I will join my boyfriend and watch him play basketball. Unfortunately, a fight broke out with a 40 something year-old man beating up on a 21 year-old kid. The 24 hour employees did not know how to handle this situation and instead of believing the 21 year-old kid who kept refusing to fight this older gentleman. Just because the older gentleman had a video pressing the little kid. They believe the 40-year-old rather than the 21-year-old that got beat up and was bleeding from his mouth. The older man is named Chris! Always causing problems on the basketball court!!! This is so unfortunate for this Gym. That older gentleman kept pressing a 21-year-old who did not want to fight him. 24 hour employees do better and protect your consumers and customers that pay monthly/yearly to have a good experience at this gym! It's also sad that this older man has got into it with other kids and people on the basketball court. Pressing wanting to fight other people yet why are the 24 hour employees believing him and not the individuals that are being bullied and harassed by him? They should immediately kicked him out the gym instead of what they did and handled the situation last night. Retrain your employees how to handle fights or...
Read moreAn update to my previous review (posted below): 24 Hour contacted me, and I directed the contact to my husband. After a couple back and forth emails and some patience our issue has been resolved. At first the membership was placed on a hold, so he still had to pay a small fee a month without the ability to use the facility, however when we brought up exactly where we plan to move they corrected the problem, mistaking that we were still going to be close to a gym. They cancelled the membership for us and refunded the last month we were charged for the hold. Thank you for resolving this. Management does need to work on promptly addressing issues, but we are happy that it was figured out.
(Original review): My husband has been a member of this gym since August. We are in the process of moving to Oregon, and he wanted to cancel his membership because we’ll be too far from any 24 Hour gyms. He had signed up with a discount from his employer, but had technical problems signing up online, so he signed up over the phone. The employee on the phone signed him up for the incorrect membership plan, getting him caught in a year-long commitment instead of a month-to-month plan. Very frustrating that after he was misled into a plan he didn’t want he can’t cancel it. Shady...
