I've just recently started eating Pho and have had it in Palo Alto and San Rafael. Simmer is close to my good friend's home, and she recommended it. We've been to Simmer a couple of times now, and out of the 3 places, Simmer is the best. I've had the Seafood Pho (My favorite) and the Beef and Brisket Pho. It is very good, and I especially like the basil sprig that comes with it. The Chai Iced Tea is a total winner because you know when you down a huge bowl of pho, you need a little bump to offset the food coma. The food is reasonably priced, and the service staff was very polite and paid attention to your table at a distance without overwhelming you so you could enjoy your conversation. I think that's an underappreciated skill. I've been at restaurants where it seemed like the server was stopping by the table every 10 minutes, interrupting the conversation. So, great job there. My 5-Star rating is something I don't just give. It was earned. I will post photos next time we go. Great...
Read moreHave been many times in the past. This time I went in for an early dinner, ordered the coconut water, and Curry chicken. They provide a spoon with your coconut so you can eat the flesh after you drink the water. The top of the coconut is cracked open for you. I stuck my straw in and drank up the water, when I looked closer I noticed the flesh of the coconut was not white, it was like a grey paste when I scraped it with my spoon. This was very obvious to the person who cracked it open that they were serving me a bad coconut. Next, I get my currry. The potato’s tasted like they were days old and had been sitting, the carrots appears like they had just been cut and tossed in, very raw, and the chicken was rubbery and undercooked. It appeared my entire meal was prepared to make me sick! I spoke to the waiter about it, he apologized, took the coconut water off my bill, and discounted the curry. Now I sit here wondering if I’m going to get sick....
Read moreWe eat in here a lot, it’s always delicious! Once we realized this was the same owners a Simmer Petaluma, we ordered our usual P-1. We usually have it delivered from the Petaluma store, but decided to order from Rohnert Park since it’s closer. Unfortunately we received half the amount of filet mignon in our Pho order. My husband asked if I ordered the kids size by mistake, since it was such a small amount. It was delicious as usual, but will stick with the Petaluma store fie Pho. Rohnert Park is great for the seafood bools but the Pho was just way overpriced for the amount of protein included. And the mung beans were on the verge of going bad too, so we couldn’t fill up on...
