Sirloin Stockade — Restaurant in Rolla

We went there 4 days ago. We sat down. I didn't order nothing but a drink, however, everyone else ordered the buffet. The manager and another table busser stood 2 feet from our table talking to one another almost the entire time we were there. It made my family members uncomfortable while they were trying to enjoy a peaceful dinner before we left to go back to Texas. My brother asked them if they could move somewhere else it made them uncomfortable feeling like they were being watched while they ate, and that we couldn't have a family conversation. They accommodated that request for less than 5 minutes and was back.. At this moment I saw a young man in the kitchen preparing food with long hair not behind it all some of his long hair behind him some of it hanging in the front. Where was his hair net? My family stopped eating once I saw another young man get something out out of the fridge take it over to the kitchen then then he stuck his bare fingers in there the white bucket pulled something out and put it in his mouth then proceded to put the lid on it and then put it back in the fridge, then went back over and started touching food with his bare hands. My brother stopped one of the other staff members and said something to them about it and he said that he would talk to him.. We went to leave my brother stood looking into the front door to see if the man would go ovee to him. He saw he did, but whom knows what was said, but the product stayed in the fridge nobody took the product that he stuck his fingers. It seemed like it was a normal thing because he wasn't nervous about somebody seeing him, I nor will my family that lives in Rolla will never ever eat there again when I go to visit my family. With covid going on and everything else that man should have been fired and the product definitely should have been thrown away.. This is this is a major health violation. Did not get a picture of the person that stuck the fingers in the container because it happened so quickly I couldn't grab my phone out of my purse fast enough, however, I did get a picture of the young man that did not have his hair back or put up...

VERY DISAPPOINTED! We had never been to a Sirloin Stockade before. We were looking at the menu and tried to ask questions about the menu and the clerk didn't know. She just asked '3 buffets? We ordered 2 buffet and 1 chicken sandwich, we asked what came on the sandwich and she looked to the other clerk and asked them what was on the sandwich because she didn't know. We asked for ketchup and she said that there wasn't any. When we went to the buffet the cold/salad side was good. Went to the hot food side and much of the food looked like it had been sitting there all day. Got the meatloaf and that was good, so were the mashed potatoes. The Mac n cheese was runny like it had water mixed into it and no flavor. The server was very nice. She asked us if we wanted baked potatoes and brought them out fresh. They were the best item there! I heard a guest ask for pumpkin pie and that she would be back, I saw her a little later come back to the dessert bar and get 2 nice looking pieces of pumpkin pie. I went over to the dessert bar looking for the pumpkin pie. There were 2 pieces, one had melted whipped cream on it and the other one didn't have whipped cream on it but there was a fly on it. I asked the dessert attendant for some fresh pumpkin pie and she pointed to the 2 pieces sitting there and said that's what they had. I mentioned that I saw someone with fresh pumpkin pie and she said that was what they had. I declined that and looked to the soft serve ice cream. I seriously don’t understand the good reviews and overall rating of this place, our experience was horrible. Went with wife and son on Monday evening. We all had the buffet. Food was not good for the most part, of what we had. Chicken, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, cheesy hashbrown like potatoes, green beans, bread was okay, but certainly not as good as most restaurants. Milk gravy tasted as if it was made from soured milk - ruind the mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak. Catfish was seriously overcooked and chewy/crispy and without flavor. The so called buffalo wings were chicken nuggets and also overcooked and rubbery. We chose not to try anything else as it did not even look appealing. As for the comment about the huge parking lot, not true. It is so cramped that a truck couldn’t even make the loop and was asking people to move their cars so he could turn through and get out. There is no atmosphere, it is just cramped tiny booths along the walls and chairs and tables, very loud with hard floors and bland colors. The only bright part was the server/bus person as they were polite and friendly, not the cashier though. Will certainly never return as it was just not worth it at all, even at half the price. Based on a conversation I had with the manager he certainly doesn’t care as his response when I told him we would not be returning was “That’s fine”.
