Oh my gosh, this food was the absolute BOMB!!! I saw this restaurant but never really ventured to try it; that is until in-laws came into town and wanted to take me out to eat for my birthday. The restaurant feels so lively and festive, with just enough busy to distract you, but just enough ambience to keep you comfortable. In layman's terms, it is like going to grandma's house to eat Sunday dinner and all the relatives popped over BUT everybody is civil! And just like grandma's, the food is by far the best Mexican food I've ever tasted!! But let me step back a bit, because I'm getting ahead of myself! First off, I must brag on the menu. I love that the menu had everything wonderfully sorted and the pictures of certain meal options made it a breeze to pick what you wanted! That is one pet peeve I had about other restaurants, especially in other languages, because I normally used the pictures and description to get an idea what the dish most likely will be without bugging the host/hostess with a thousand questions. Sample pictures depicted what a dish will look like for entire sections, making it easy to literally pick a meal based on picture alone! Now for the service. The hostess that served us was so intuitive and on point, that at one time I thought she was reading our minds or something. And when the food came out, it was so hot, it looked like it was pulled straight from the skillet to the plate!!! I squealed like a little schoolgirl seeing that food sizzling on the plate!! And with a man's mug of beverage to wash it down, I was ready to go to town! But oh, Las Palmas doesn't just get points for the food alone! Again, the atmosphere makes this restaurant THE PLACE TO EAT AT in Rome for high quality Mexican food AND experience!! As we ate, we had a party of customers that were obviously celebrating a birthday. They were loud and happy, and having a festive town. Suddenly, the hosts and hostesses crowd around their table, and with festive cheer, break out into happy birthday for the lucky patron! Instantly, the restaurant goes wild, with people all around clapping and hooting, and even the babies loudly screaming happy birthday!
Yes, this restaurant serves amazing food, has wonderful decorations, and fantastic hosts and hostesses, but what sets it apart is that when you step into this restaurant, you're not a customer or a patron;...
Read moreWe used to think very highly of this restaurant. My dad would go there all the time. On this occasion we went after our Deacon's funeral internment; it was me, my son, my dad and my stepmom. Stepmom ordered a chicken quesadilla, my dad ordered a half order of steak and shrimp fajitas, my son ordered a half order of Texas fajitas nachos, and I ordered a chicken and steak add mushroom fajita taco salad. We also got the guacamole tableside; the guacamole was awesome, the guy that made the guacamole was awesome. The waitress was not. Waitress brought my stepmom out just the chicken quesadilla instead of the lettuce, guac, and whatever else, sour cream, that comes with it, she brought out a full order of the nachos for my son, and my taco salad had plastic in it, blue plastic, like maybe the gloves that they wear having been sliced off inside of it. When we had tried to say something about the half order of nachos for my son to her she had an attitude and said she'd take it back and charge for the half; my son had already started eating on it, so he just said never mind and paid the full price for it, as far as my stepmom's goes she was like well I only charged her for the quesadilla I'll charge you for the sides and I'll bring them out. Per my dad's suggestion, we spoke with the manager, instead of the waitress, about the plastic that was in my salad; he ended up bringing me back a steak taco salad with the mushrooms, there was no chicken, and he did end up taking off the price of the taco salad but I didn't even get my food back until after everyone else was done eating. My dad has a card that scans for points when you get 100 points you get $10 off. He tried to use his card and when he got it back the points had changed but the price had not. He spoke with the manager again and the manager told him that specific location no longer honors the card that it is a "every 10 visits you get a free meal" thing instead of the "hundred points" thing however the points were adjusted to reflect that he had received...
Read moreSorry to say it this place SUX. We had never ben to this place to eat so we took some time to give them a try, We was seated right away and the Woman that took our Order was very Polite.
Now to the Bad part of the Meal, The Salsa tasted like it was SOUR and the Chips Tasted like RAW FLOUR, The teas was good and Sweet and we ask for some Sour cream we tasted out food after we put the Sour cream on it and the Food tasted BAD,.
So I tasted the SOUR CREAM and it was so bad tasting it came close to making me Sick, We called the Woman over that had taken our order and told her what was wrong and she said to give her a second and she would talk to the Manager.
In a Minute or two she came back and ask us was we regular customer or was this our first time I told her no we had never ben inside but we wanted to try them because we eat at a lot of Mexican places, She then told us that the Manager said the Salsa Was Good she tasted it and that nothing was wrong with the Sour Cream but to make us Happy she was going to take the Sour Cream off the bill.
We told her thanks but we had put the Sour Cream in our food and could not eat it because of the Taste, We still had to Pay for the food we did not eat and they Gave us a to go box to bring it home and took nothing more Off the bill.
Now we have food to go in the Trash what a waste of Food and Money and we still have not had anything to eat.
Thank for nothing and we will never come back into this place to eat ever, The Woman that took our order was very good at her job but the Manager really stinks and thanks to her I am posting the Review in Anger.
Thanks for Nothing but taking my...
