Ordered a toasted bagel. It was room temperature at best. Ordered coffee. Asked for half and half and the clerk said, "it is over there," and pointed to the condiment station. She was referring to the little packets of cream that contain chemicals. I said I want real half and half. She said, "Oh, you want real half and half?" She put half and half in my cup. I went o the coffee dispenser and was only able to get half a cup as the dispenser was spitting and appear to be empty. I asked if there was any Traverse City Cherry coffee. They said it would take 3 minutes to brew, but no one started the brew. After several minutes they started preparing to brew the coffee. They asked for my cup saying there was some coffee left in the dispenser. I told them that coffee had to be old because the coffee in my cup came out of the dispenser cold. They poured my coffee out. Then they started brewing coffee. Then they took the used cup and caught coffee in it, above the coffee dispenser. Is that sanitary? They gave me the coffee and it did not taste like Traverse City cherry. I told the clerk and she responded that my nose was messed up. She then started doing some "sister-girl" head/neck movement. Sort of like a stand up comedian does when they are making fun of their girlfriend. As a Black woman, I did not appreciate the stereotype and especially not from a white person. Anyway, the coffee did not taste right. Perhaps because it was caught in mid stream. I threw it in the trash and left. Will not be back. I stayed away from this place for about 18 months in the past because when they hand you a cup for your coffee they put their finger in the cup. The person who handles money, puts her finger in the cup. When I started going back to this place I would ask for another cup when the cashier picked up the cup by the rim and stuck her finger into the cup. Eventually they stopped putting their fingers on the rim and in the cup. Today was too much. Bad food, bad coffee with a side of racial stereotyping. No time for this....

Today I went to get my coffee at my usual coffee place and the line was so long I decided never mind. Continuing to drive down the road I spotted Brooklyn bagels not being a person who frequents there I decided to give it a go, I sure am glad that I did.

There was only two cars in line, which led me to be in line for a total of less than 10 min, very pleased.

I did not go into Brooklyn bagels so I cannot comment on the atmosphere with inside of the facility, I did go through the drive-thru line. The facility on the outside was pleasant and clean enough to get my attention to stop. Pulling into the parking lot pull around to the back of the building and there is a big menu placed on display with many things to choose from usually people do not have a good outdoor menu but this one did. I could hear the person speaking through the speaker very clearly and it was easy to understand. Mi barista was pleasant and answered my questions while making good suggestions.

Today I ordered the white chocolate chai add espresso. My drink is everything I hoped it would be. It's delicious, it's warm, I am very pleased.

The prices are lower than my normal coffee facility so I think I may have found my new favorite place! My large white chocolate chai at expresso came to around $6 and some change along with the tip that I left make sure you tip your barista at least a dollar. If they deserve it which I'm sure they do they work very hard.

Thank you Brooklyn bagels for...

I really do enjoy the bagels and cream cheese. I used to enjoy a certain coffee every morning before work. Unfortunately with the inconsistency in price or "ability" to make an iced coffee with chocolate, I quit ordering it. However, today I decided to treat myself to a coffee and bagel. Keeping it really simple, LG iced coffee +cream+sugar and an Asiago bagel with extra spicy garlic cream cheese. The girl asked if I said plain bagel, I said no, Asiago, she confirmed Asiago. She said she would have my total at the window. She told me the wrong price at first then said sorry $10.04. I made sure to ask if the bagel had extra cream cheese, because of the inconsistency of sometimes having it, sometimes not, she replied yes extra cream cheese. She hands me my coffee and bagel and once I got to my lunch spot I open the bagel and it is indeed a plain bagel with very little cream cheese🤦🏼‍♀️ coffee isn't great either. I really want to love coming here because of the bagels but the service is bottom tier to say the least....

If you are looking for a bagel place that is as much like a real Brooklyn bagel place as you can get, this is it! From lox open-face sandwiches, to many bagel choices, and even a small case of different schmears! They also have Republic of Tea there which I tend to find in a lot of east coast cafes. There are also plenty of coffee choices, but I am definitely more black tea since I am originally from NY metro area. This place seems like they took inspiration from my favorite Brooklyn bagel chain, Bergen Bagels. Even if you have never been to a bagel shop in Brooklyn, there is plenty here for you to enjoy. My only gripe is that these bagel shops are not in GR or even further since they are only local Muskegon-based with 3 locations in the area. I think they would do well in GR and I would be at one very frequently!

Brooklyn Bagel used to be my goto breakfast at least once a week but after numerous visits with my meal wrong, I'm officially no longer a loyal happy customer. 8 out of 10 times my order was wrong, either having ingredients i requested off or missing half the sandwich contents. I am a cook for a local restaurant so there's no excuse for incorrect orders and constantly being out of stock of common ingredients like cucumber and green pepper. I would never give my customers the experience I have received from Brooklyn bagel. I Have limited options as a vegetarian in this city but that doesn't mean I'll settle for less, it's a shame to have to bring my money elsewhere.
