Alexander's Greek Cuisine — Restaurant in Roseburg

Great food, great service. We spent $93 including tip and had a starter, 2 mains, a soda, and a desert. We left with enough leftovers for a two person lunch. I will say that the baklava while good was not my favorite part of dinner. You can definitely taste the fresh walnuts in it, and they use local honey, but it was hard to eat and needed more honey throughout. The traditional gyro was delicious. I could have maybe used a little more red onion imo, but there was soo much meat included. That was great. The salad was super fresh, and the dressing was very fresh also. The rice was delicious and not on the menu as a side but cost $8 for the big portion. The lamb burger was well dressed, although a cibatta bun is not my overall fave it went well. And the sample starter was my favorite. The dolmadakia was deliciously seasoned and brined, a lemon wedge would be a nice addition. The feta was fresh, the pickle components were very nice, and the pita was freshly toasted. I will say I've had better spanakopita, I felt like it was lacking herbs and cheese, but as a hot addition to the cold sampler, I enjoyed it. All in all, this was money well spent on a date night. Driving through Roseburg and decided we were starving. We saw this place and were so excited about the Greek food. The place was about half full when we arrived and shortly after we ordered it filled up. We got our food last behind everyone who walked in after us. We waited 45 minutes for our food and as I watched all the locals get their food in 15 min or less I got more and more irritated. I watched the chef use the microwave and was grateful I had only ordered gyros. When our food arrived the fries I ordered were cold and very old I flagged down our waitress to ask for more fries. She informed me it would take 20 minutes for me to get fresh fries and she would just take them off the ticket. I expressed my disappointment in waiting so long for cold fries. She told me, "You were outside when your food arrived smoking so how would you know if they were cold when they got here" Actually my partner was outside checking on our dog, I was the one who ordered fries and they were cold. I was so taken aback from her attitude and I said a bad word so she kicked me out of the restaurant. Gluten free options: 4/5 A solid selection of gluten free options on the menu. They definitely go out of their way to accommodate. The gluten free pita was soft and packed with delicious herbs. Food: 4/5 Food was hot and fresh, seasoned well. French fries were thin and crispy. They tasted like McDonalds fries. Portions were large. They don’t skimp out on anything.

Service: 4/5 Server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was always on top of refills. Food did take a while longer than expected to deliver, even though the restaurant was only about half full.

Location: 4/5 Ample street parking. Restaurant is easy to find.

Ambiance: 4/5 Comfortable atmosphere. I like the enlarged photos of Greece. If you sit by one of them, you feel like you’re having a meal there!
