Gathering Grounds Coffee House — Restaurant in Roseburg

Friday, 8/22/25, stopped here on our way from Ashland to Portland. Excellent cafe with many filling & delicious vegan options. We ordered the breakfast scramble burrito, which had great flavor and was especially tasty, since they grill it on the panini press. Coconut raspberry coffee cake was super yummy warmed up with a bit of Earth Balance, and we devoured it before we could take pics. Lemon strawberry danish and panini with a generous portion of chips were delicious as well. The two young women behind the counter were extremely helpful and friendly, which made our meal even better. I can't say enough positive things about these two and how pleasant and kind they were, as we have been traveling for a few days, and that certainly hasn't always been the case. I was a return customer today, however, I will not be returning to this place. The place has undergone many changes, the atmosphere is now opaque, chaotic, unorganizable, busy walls and everything I’ve had recently tastes like cardboard. Although all the employees are friendly and tend to customers with smiles and heartfelt greetings. The coffee is just not there. It tastes like burnt plastic smells. The cold case is empty and sad and the culture all around the place has shifted. It’s sad to see a place that was so awesome either away and in such a short period of time. I do...

The people here are so nice. The food is delicious and the coffee is even better. I watched them cut fresh ingredients for my panini, and they use more sustainable packaging for to-go orders (no styrofoam!). I love that they are vegetarian because I eat mostly vegetarian and they had plenty of options for me.

And don't even get me started on the scones. I tried a pumpkin hazelnut scone and the flavors were soooooo freaking good. They didn't skimp on the pumpkin or the hazelnut, and it was absolutely perfect. Any time I come back to Roseburg, I will be back...
