Do you love breakfast food? This is one of those classic cafes that pile breakfast so high on your plate that you have to do some work to see the plate again. Those wide, heavy plates that stay warm and make you feel cozy.
Donât miss the turn coming into the restaurant, itâs a quick left onto Eden St. once you turn off the freeway, tucked behind the Chevron.
Although Caseyâs does get busy, the wait is usually not too long. They seem to rotate traffic pretty well. We were lucky to have no wait during our last visit.
The staff was friendly and accommodating to my child, offering crayons and coloring sheets while we waited for our food.
We ordered the corn beef hash, smiley face pancake, and another breakfast combo and stuffed our faces. Their hash browns are seared perfectly every time. The combo included biscuits and gravy and they may as well call it Mount Biscuit because that side alone could have substituted a meal! Our bellies were happy and full.
You can pay at the front or wait for them to bring you a portable kiosk when youâre finished.
We love the comfort of this classic cafe, it has basic booths and tables, but lacks a little luster for decoration and feels a bit worn. Itâs a perfect example of âdonât judge a book by its coverâ though because we keep coming...
Read moreThis is an update/ edit from my original 2 star (below) that was based on service since I didn't get to try the food.
I returned on a Saturday the place was super busy and we went pretty early. I can now say the food was very good all omelets, portions were large stuffed with cheese and meat (we all left a little something behind, there were four of us) service was on the slow side but like I say the place was busy. The server we had was was friendly, and offered suggestions. One piece of advice, if you don't want your bacon cooked to death I mean way beyond crisp you need to tell them. Out of the four of us only one person was able to choke a whole piece down.
Original review: This review is based on service only since I didn't get a chance to try the food. Waited more than 5 minutes at the sign that says Hostess will seat you with my cane since I don't stand very well. The hostess actually sat people that were behind me and never even acknowledged me after waiting a couple more minutes I turned around and left. Based on service alone not sure if I would return to even try the food that...
Read moreDefinitely felt like it was going to be a friendly environment from the moment we walked in since we were greeted by an older gentleman who I could only assume is the owner. Unfortunately, our waitress wasn't as friendly. She quickly came to get our order but it felt like we waited a while for food. Even had to get up and ask someone for napkins during our meal because she never came to check in with us. Too few waitresses tending to tables.
All in all, a nice little diner to get a bite before our long road trip home. Portions were decent, even for the kids' plate. The only downside was that my omelet was good, but the bell peppers and onions could have sautéed a few minutes longer for them to soften. They tasted raw and had a slight crunch.
Disclaimer that bacon piece was from my daughter's breakfast, not...
