Terrible customer service, I was reaching out over an order that is a week late, supposedly due to the third party company, (don’t recommend purchasing anything third party from Michael’s) I never received a tracking order for it, only the Michael’s receipt confirmation, and est. delivery date. (9/16-9/18, spent twenty minutes in a chat, explaining that I never received the order and I would like a refund, being told let me check into that for you, and one moment please, supposedly the only option is them emailing the third party company waiting for a response and then emailing me back. (No dates, or estimated time responses, or when I should expect to hear back from anyone. I’ve already had no communication from this third party company) after asking to speak to someone else, waiting on hold in chat so while the chatter provides all details to transfer me to someone else, just to be asked what my order number was., again, by the (“specialist or higher level agent”! (They can see the previous chat history) and the previous chatter had mentioned they were providing the supervisor with all the details needed while I waited in the chat on hold, all to be told that there is nothing they can do about it, there isn’t a specialist that can help me at this time and that someone will follow up with a call within 24-48 hrs, without confirming my email or phone number? While I was typing a response requesting that this and the prior chat transcript be sent to me via email, (the agent can also see that the customer is typing, the chat box probably indicates something like chatter typing). Before I could send the response the agent ended the chat on me,. 20 minutes out of my day, no refund, or solution,. Pretty...
Read moreLooked for a local place that sells Montana Cans (spray paint). Online says they have a sh!t-ton of various options. In the actual store, they had almost nothing for Montana, went with Lak instead. Pulled a bunch off the shelf, a rep asked me if I needed a basket. That was sweet and helpful. Got followed around by what was supposed to be “discreet” loss prevention while I continued looking around the shop. Got to the counter, was offered a bag for an additional fee, as if their mark-up wasn’t horrendous enough. I declined paying for a bag but asked if I could simply use the hand basket I was already using around the shop, just to run the product out to my vehicle about 20 feet away, the clerk had to call someone to ask if that’d be okay, and when that someone approached me, said, “we don’t usually allow that because they don’t come back”…uh, wait a sec…that sounds to me like I’m being called a thief when I just paid over a hundred dollars for a dozen spray cans. A dozen, overpriced cans, and either a bag they want to charge for, or I try and load them up in my arms. They did offer help to carry them out, but after essentially being called a thief, I...
Read moreThe only things positive going for this store is that it is the only place in the local shopping area to purchase certain art supplies and get reliable framing.
Michael's first began as a highly respected store, business and industry, but this sadly has fallen to the business being bought and sold by corporations, and the company has been tossed around like a football in a game.
As an artist, I am very familiar with the cost of materials and supplies, which are of course, cheap to make, and sold at highly inflated prices .I am also a person who prefers to buy locally, but honestly, buying from the corporate entity that is Michael's is not what I would exactly call buying local, even if the location is nearby.
A person is will be better off and save more money by buying online, eliminate the middle person and purchasing directly from the product manufacturers who usually are happy to help ship the...
