White Rose System — Restaurant in Roselle

Yesterday I purchased the "Burger Special" from White Rose System in roselle. I normally buy from them because food is good and the prices are great. I made my order to go. Once I left I sipped on my Pepsi and it was syrupy. I went to eat my burger, but checked it 1st. My meat looked as if it was cooked then cut in half and I could see through it. Mind you this was the "large" burger. Then I tried to eat and the bun was toasted on the outside, so it was too hard to bite into. I called to make a complaint because now I'm hungry and annoyed. The lady on the phone was a bit discourteous but said I can speak to owner when I'm back in the area. This morning I go to speak to the owner and he was rude, did not let me speak, and came off aggressive. He did not want to hear what I had to say or look at the pictures I took. The owner stated he was not sure if I even ate the sandwich. He then aggressively asked me what did I want and began to tell me how I am not getting money back. I informed him, I did not come back for money and asked why was he being rude and making a scene. He became even more abrasive and told me that I could not make a complaint about the soda because no one else complains about it. Again, he asked me loudly what did I want and how all he was going to give me a burger, if that is what I came in for. He barely let me say a word. Been coming to this place off and on for some time now and I can say the service is not what it used to be. I mean It’s never been “great” but it was always bearable. The amount of mistakes made on my food almost sent me over the edge today. I normally like my food when I come here as I always get my usual when I come. What I didn’t like about my visit this time was that I tried something new and judging from the menu there was no indication it came with bacon, as I requested for chicken. It seems as if they just throw bacon on anything. I believe they should confirm with the customer if they would like bacon on their dish or not before getting upset that the customer didn’t know bacon comes on it. If the customer confirms they would like bacon then confirm what TYPE of bacon would the customer like especially if it’s not listed on the menu- as other restaurants do. It may seem like a long conversational exchange with the customer but it will cut back on wasted supply and the chef and customer been irritated. Not everyone eats bacon/ pork nor wants it even touching their food. This will also cut back on the chef remaking the food and complaining for the customer to hear. I don’t mean to be that customer but if I’m paying for something run everything by me before trying to fulfill my wishes. After a year and half out of work due to a bad accident I finally found myself back to work and in the neighborhood of White Rose. Hooray! I was determined to eat like I was going to the electric chair! And the White Rose did not disappoint either. I ordered the corned beef hash platter, extra crispy with eggs sunny side up, buttered Rye toast. I was reborn. The waitress, Angela, was not only attentive,funny and on the ball but drop dead GORGEOUS. I proposed to her several times too. The food and coffee are beyond the term stellar, it's an culinary experience beyond mere words. The White Rose meets my limited list of dining facilities that are a"must visit" culinary bucket list for New Jersey. They are a cash only establishment so keep that in mind for your visit, ATMs are inside to gain cash. They serve a myriad of dishes here so you'll never be bored. I've seen patrons having bacon cheeseburgers for breakfast and they looked so good that I'm ordering that on my next, highly anticipated visit. It may appear as the quintessential "NJ greasy spoon" on the outside but trust me here, one visit and you will return faithfully as I do. My rating is a rare 10 stars, yes, that good.
