I’m giving two stars ONLY because I got refunded this time!!!

I used to really love this place. The owner (Jamaican lady) was quite nice and pleasant. Recently, however I realize that I’ve been served left over food. Yes it’s not fresh. This is the 3rd and final time I have got spoilt food from this place!!!

The first 2 times I spoke with the gentleman that was there. He’s was rather rude and took offense to me telling him that the food was not fresh and that it was beginning to smell, a few hours after purchase. I was very professional but he got so heated because he says he thought I was just trying to get a refund!!!

I’m a HUGE proponent of my culture- especially its cuisine so I had no reason to maliciously call out this restaurant! I simply was giving my feedback , as I do (good or bad)with any other place I visit. There is a saying that goes ‘be kind and humble when dealing with people who prepare your food and that is why this is my last visit to this restaurant.

I have a tummy ache from confidently chomping down the spoilt rice and peas that I literally just bought a 2pm today, August 2, 2022. I bought stew chicken w/ rice and peas and jerk turkey wings, and some other dry stuff like tutti fruti etc. The turkey wings were definitely not fresh and the chicken was OK but the rice was 100% gone- to the point where there was slime coming from the fork when I pulled it from the rice!!! Yuck! - just awful and disgusting.

I feel so terrible writing this review but honestly, because I would have rather to tell the owner myself or share this with the people there but from my last 2 experiences, and from the 2-3 signs up in the store. I don’t think they are open to that! (‘All sales are final’ ‘No refunds’ ‘no exchange’)

Ordered on Grubhub and received greens that had a worm like insect. I have contacted GrubHub regarding this issue and GrubHub offered $5.00. This restaurant denies these claims and does not have an email where I can send pictures of what was in our order. This is terrible service from both GrubHub and Cool Runnings. Eat at your own risk. UPDATE: I have receieved a call from the Owner of this establishment, instead of understanding where I was coming from, I was spoken to very rudely. "You as a man, why would you do that?" (Leave a negative feedback with a picture showing something that does not resemble greens. I was not satisfied with receiving a wormlike insect in my greens) I have tried to explain I have reached out to GrubHub, which confirmed contacting the company, and have been told they denied to refund. Instead of meeting in the middle, I have been bombarded with vulgarity. It is a shame because I have ordered here with no issues but when one issue arises, I am treated I am wrong for posting a review and proving picture proof. The call ended with the Owner stating: "I believe in karma". A phone call from the Owner, you would expect a resolution or at least some understanding, but instead she wasted time by being nasty. They will not have to worry about me ordering from them. If this was a mistake on my end, tell me. If there was a mistake on their end, own up to it, plain and simple. Sad excuse for a restaurant - I ordered a delivery and literally got the smallest 5 pieces. 2 of the 5 were burned and 2 of the 5 were all fat, leaving 1 viable piece of meat for a large entree.

I call the establishment (it’s not acting like a reputable restaurant) to let them know about themselves. The woman refused to give me her name. I called around 7pm and she’s trying to make me understand that they close at 9pm.

Last I checked, 7pm is dinner time for most Americans and you cannot offer quality plate of food because you’re concerned with your 9p closing time?

If you cannot promise quality food and servings then take it off the menu and don’t offer it.

This establishment is just GREEDY. They take your money, they’re literal thieves who do not care about your HARD EARNED money. Have you been inside? The place is a literal dump.

Do not eat here. I never will. Rose, the manager… please do better.

The “owner” responded. The person on the phone actually refused to help me - she only gave me Rose’s name. She never invited me back to make the substandard occasion I had that evening up.

I’m stating the truth. I would hate for you to deceive future paying patrons like you deceived me. If the owner finds that guests speaking their truth is a problem then perhaps everyone should pause and think about spending money at an establishment that confuses honesty for anger.

No one at Cool Runnings offered a solution. Please stop leaving false narratives under my review. The owner claims I have 6 kids...
