🧋 ChaTraMue Original Thai Tea – A Sweet & Sour Standout in a Cup
I'm so glad there's finally a location in the SGV, no more long drives to LA just to get my fix of this authentic Thai boba shop. You walk into a cute little tea shop with two ordering kiosk ipad.
📌 What I Ordered Thai Lemon Tea – extra sour, 70% sweetness
Signature Thai Milk Tea (cold), 70% sweetness
🌟 Highlights Thai Lemon Tea (extra sour, 70%): The star of the visit. Exceptionally refreshing, with a bold citrus punch that cuts cleanly through the tea's tannins. The 70% sweetness balanced the tartness beautifully, making it even more vibrant than a traditional HK lemon tea. Ideal for hot days or a palate reset.
Signature Thai Milk Tea: Still a creamy classic. Rich and sweet with a nostalgic flavor.
Quick Service & Bright Atmosphere: Service was prompt and the space is sleek and photo-friendly.
🛠️ Areas for Improvement Sweetness Customization Not Always Clear: While you can adjust sweetness, it's not prominently advertised. First-time customers might miss it.
Limited Indoor Seating: Mostly a grab-and-go setup. Not ideal if you're looking to linger.
💡 Tips Definitely ask for extra sour if ordering the Thai Lemon Tea, it takes the drink to another level.
70% sweetness seems to be a sweet spot (pun intended) for most of their drinks. The level of sweetness adjustment ranges from 0, 30%, 70%, 100%
Keep an eye out for rotating specials like tea soft serve or limited seasonal blends.
Parking: its a free lot shared with other business like Golden Delight 2 and JiRong Duck. Can be challenging to find parking on the weekend.
Payment: Cashless payment with NFC(Tap to pay), Apple Pay and...
Read moreMy first time trying out the Cha Tea Mae shop! I've heard about their sister store in Chinatown, but this was a bit closer for me. The brand is already something I am familiar with since it's popular in Thailand, and many shops in the states also serve their Thai Tea using this brand. (But ofc, I need to try it in their own store, hehe)
I tried out two drinks, their original Thai Tea (22 oz) and their Cocoa Milk.
For the Thai Tea, I had mine with extra ice and 30% sweet. The sweetness was the right amount since I'm not a fan of overly sweet dreams. As the ice melted it helped in balancing out the flavors in the drink.
Their Cocoa Milk was also good. It has normal ice, and 70% sugar. I was worried 70% would have been too sweet, but it luckily struck the perfect balance with the bitterness of the chocolate. If you're into chocolate lattes, Milo, Ovaltine, etc, then this type of drink is for you haha.
Also shout out for the great service! It was really busy when I went and there was an issue with my order, but the staff was very accommodating.
In terms of the location, it's in a strip mall with a lot of parking. During certain times of the day, Valley Blvd can get very packed, so you may have to a wait a bit before turning into the plaza.
Overall, I'll try to come here again from time to time! Definitely worth coming whenever I crave having Thai...
Read moreChaTraMue is my new favorite boba spot to go for Thai tea. This store is located in a busy plaza with parking shared with other businesses. While there are a lot of spots, it was very busy and was difficult to find parking on Saturday around noon.
When it came to ordering, there is are (2)kisok available. It was helpful that they have pictures to showcase the drinks. I order 4 drinks total and was surprised that they were all ready in less than 8 minutes. You can also input your phone number to get updates on when the drinks are ready. You can also get reward points as well.
Personally, I got the Green Thai Milk Tea with double pandan boba at regular sweetness and large size. I really like the green thai tea, but didn’t like the pandan too much. I’ve gotten their brown sugar boba before and enjoyed that in...
