After eagerly awaiting a chance to dine at Chubby Cattle in Rosemead, we finally got a Saturday night reservation. The restaurant has a cozy, laid-back atmosphere and wasn’t overly crowded, which made for a pleasant evening. There’s a single menu price of $65.99 per person, with drinks billed separately. We opted for the charcoal fire outdoor dining, and the smoky, charred flavor it imparted on the beef was a highlight—absolutely delicious.
The A5 Wagyu beef was a treat, though limited to one piece per customer, which left us wanting more. Compared to other Chubby Cattle locations, the sushi menu here felt a bit restrictive, with only one type of sushi and one dessert available. That said, the quality of the other meats more than made up for it. The short rib was the main show- tender, flavorful, and perfectly marinated. Every bite was worth the price.
Service was fantastic, with attentive and friendly staff who made the experience even better. Our only gripe was the parking—navigating the small lot was a hassle. Overall, it’s a spot we’d recommend and return to, but we’re also curious to check out their Hacienda Heights location for a potentially broader menu. Chubby Cattle Rosemead delivers a solid dining experience that’s well...
Read moreI recently visited Chubby Cattle's new location, Rosemead location, it's my second time dining at chubby cattle, and once again, they've exceeded my expectations! As a fan of their Wagyu BBQ, I was eager to try out their new spot, and it did not disappoint.
The food was absolutely incredible, maintaining the high standards I've come to associate with Chubby Cattle. The quality of the Wagyu BBQ was top-notch, and the flavors were simply mouthwatering. It's evident that they take great care in sourcing their ingredients and ensuring a delightful dining experience.
What pleasantly surprised me was that the prices at the Rosemead location were even more budget-friendly compared to the Monterey Park store. It's a fantastic bonus to enjoy the same fantastic quality of food at a more affordable cost. This makes Chubby Cattle Rosemead an excellent choice for those looking for a delicious meal without breaking the bank.
The ambiance at the new location was inviting, and the service was attentive and friendly. The staff's commitment to ensuring a positive dining experience was evident...
Read moreI’ve been to many Chubby Cattle locations—Monterey Park, La Habra, LA, Vegas, and Rowland —and have generally had great experiences. This was my first time visiting the Rosemead location, and unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype.
A close friend had been raving about how good this branch was, but I left disappointed. For starters, the grill they use now appears to be made of aluminum, which raises health concerns due to its potential toxicity when heated. The mesh is so thin that fat from the meat drips through and causes constant flare-ups, making the cooking process unpleasant and smoky.
The sushi was a complete letdown—poor quality and not fresh at all. Service was also subpar. Despite being one of the first customers when they opened for the day, it took an unreasonably long time just to get basic condiments like sesame oil and dipping sauces.
The only redeeming quality was the meat itself, which was fresh and flavorful. But overall, the poor service, questionable grill setup, and low-quality sushi made this a disappointing visit. I won’t be coming back to the...
