Staying at the Hotel across the street and havent had good mexican food in a while so figured what the hey... So... The positives.. The Air Conditioner was good... Thats a full star right there... The salsa was fresh but did taste salty.. It was great for putting some flavor in the meal.. the Chicken and rice soup is pretty good.. its salty, but its not bad.. just be aware they add cold and raw diced onions, peppers, and tomatoes on top of the soup. (I had to pulled them out) The food came out fast..
The negatives... The atmosphere or vibe was more like that of the Diner I ate at in Midtown-NYC last month instead of the family style atmosphere most Mexican restaurants have. I felt rushed even though i waited a while to order and then my server dissappeared once the food was out. The wait staff i encountered had a very curt attitude. Was no crowd or packed house which would typically explain that. The 2 chicken burritos i ordered were bland which is more traditional as thats what salsa is for. The problem was the chicken was over cooked and not drained from its time in the pot so they were soggy on one side. Then to top it off they tried to upcharge me for ordering Chicken when the menu clearly states that it is included without any upcharge.. waitress blamed management and i agreed... There were other food issues but i chock those up to my preferrences not there short coming ..
Honestly, i gave 3 stars because the salsa was fresh and once ordered the food was fast... I regretted going in after getting my food and feel should have walked down to McDonald's.. i would have saved money and probably enjoyed my food.....
Read moreWanted some Mexican food while I was in downtown Roseville. Found this spot and gave it a shot.
Walked in and only one table was being used but figured it was due to the heat and not alot of people out and about. The interior was kinda glum or just plain. The cashier was an older woman and seemed pissed off about something. She took my order and I felt like I was an inconvenience to her. I wanted a burrito and asked the difference of the super and combo burrito. Both only had rice beans and meat...size was the difference. I thought super burritos had cheese, sour cream, and usually guacamole on top of what she said. No... so it was an extra $2 each. Long story short, my burrito turned out to be a wet burrito (fun for the car ride right?) and was mediocre at best. Paid for guacamole and sour cream and only got sour cream...cool.

Read moreThis restaurant was recommended by the front desk staff at the hotel I was staying at near by. I wanted Mexican food but not some that was too greasy. Upon arriving and immediately being seated I asked the waitress (who was not very pleasant and seemed annoyed by any questions) if the chimichangas were covered in sauce and oily. She told me they weren't so I went ahead and ordered a chicken one. I was disappointed when she set the plate down in front of me a short while later and the chichanga was slathered with melted cheese on top which left it sitting in a pool of oil. To say my weak stomach was disappointed was an understatement. I grabbed the waitress the next time she walked by and asked to order a quesadilla. She looked at my uneaten chimichanga pushed to the side and proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay for both meals...
