Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Roseville

Pulled into the drive-thru tonight at 9:09 pm to order 4 treats. Store hours were listed as open until 9:30 pm on Google and the door. One car was in the drive-thru getting their order. Person on intercom came on and said they were closed. Huh? Seemed fishy to me. Backed out of the drive-thru and another car pulled in to order. I called the store and the manager on duty tells me she is closing early because she has three teenagers working with her and she is understaffed. Huh? How are you understaffed with 4 workers when only your drive-thru is open? And how are you understaffed at 9:09 and need to close early but not understaffed at 9:00 or 8:30 or ... or earlier and closed then? This makes no sense. Then the manger tells me they only closed 20 minutes early. Huh? I was there 21 minutes before closing and you told me you were closed then. It seems to me in these times when every sale you have means the difference between the business surviving or not, you wouldn’t turn away customers with a more than $25 order because you chose to close early when the customer arrived during business hours. Great soft-serve ice cream treat place. A regular place we visit in the summer months. It was a bit busy, with a few other families also ordering cones and they skipped over our order on our last visit, so it took around 10 minutes just to get some cones. But they were friendly about it and made them right away once we reminded them. Most of the time our the service here is pretty good - they don't mix up orders and are pretty quick, so the delay was unusual, and probably just an anomaly. This location is mostly just treats and doesn't have all the burgers, chicken strips, french fries and other food that some larger DQ's have, although they have a couple of savory items on the menu sometimes. Also, no inside seating and just a couple of tables outside. Most of the time we take the treats home or to the nearby beach or maybe eat them quickly in the car before they melt :-). Enjoyed the free cones during their recent promotion - great job by the staff serving the extra-large load of customers...

Worst decision I made was giving this location another chance after being treated so horribly the last time I came here! This place will NEVER get another dime of my money EVER! Employees were very disrespectful and I had the feeling they did something to my food after I complained about waiting almost 10 minutes for 2 Large Blizzards and 2 Burger meals with fries and drinks. They were laughing to themselves while pointing and trying to hide their actions with my food. I wanted to say something about the way they were behaving so badly but I held my composure due to having my 12 year old daughter with me. I didnt tale the chance of eating ANY of the food. I threw it all in the garbage and I try and keep everyone I can from eating here. Very messed up and NOT where anyone should feel...
