Cancun Mexican Grill & Cantina — Restaurant in Saint Paul

For starters, it takes me a couple visits to leave a bad review. I've been here about 6x. When I come i'm usually with my cousin. We visited yesterday and we had quite the experience. When we arrive around 330 there were about 6-8 people inside. We were excited as wanted to enjoy prompt service and happy hour. It took 15 minutes to get a drink. It took 30ish to get a food order in. I asked about a hot sauce they usually have called chapala she said they never had it. We ordered a shot and my cousin asked for a beer back she had no idea what that was so we asked for a chaser she had no idea what that was. We got our food order in and he never got his extra rice, she argued with us. My tostada was soggy, shell totally dissolved and I won't start on the rest. When the bill came to me she didn't want to take off the rice he never received and had the nerve to tell us she was in the kitchen watching the cook and saw him put extra rice in the bowl. That's crazy because she was only waiter I was appalled. Anyway, needless to say we won't be back as our last 2 experiences were similar. I spent a lot of money in restaurants. HORRIBLE ! I had a horrible day I was crying so I went to have a bite to eat. My sister told me about this place. I order a boat load of food of course just trying to make myself feel better. I ordered supreme nachos and shrimp tacos. I didn’t eat anything but ONE TACO & a little of nachos. I asked for to go boxed and boxed one shrimp taco because I ate the other and I boxed my nachos. I live in golden valley so I left and I forgot my to go boxes. I called them and let them know. I came back the next day only wanting what I boxed up because I paid for it and I didn’t eat anything else they brought. They couldn’t do anything for me. I didn’t even want a refund. I only want one taco made and my nachos. I will never come here again ! To think I was already having a bad day and then left my food smh. Stopped in for the taco Tuesday special. 3 tacos for $9.99. You cannot get different meats on the tacos. They all have to be the same meat. The tacos were big. They do not come with rice or beans. We got the al pastor. It was decent but a little spicy for al pastor. The tacos come with salsa rojo. I asked if they had salsa verde and she said “no, not for the tacos.” I don’t even know what that means. 😆 Let’s get down to the reason for my 3 star rating. The service was definitely lacking! Our server never smiled. It seemed like she didn’t really want to be there. Even though the place was empty, we were never checked on, drinks never refilled until we had to ask, at the end of our meal. She dropped the check and we had to go find her to pay.
