Lazy staffing, terrible food quality, and overall needs to be closed down. I personally have went here dozens of times to to convenience, sadly majority if not all have been quite terrible. Firstly, I've been denied service from there directly 4 times, 2 from them saying I cannot use a mcdonalds registered coupon, which the first time the lady yelled at me and told me to leave, black lady she works management at night time and refused to tell me her name when i asked. Next is Christy, previous manager who tried to claim that the coupons provided doesnt need to be honored due to the store being privately owned, I reported both her, and the owner to the better business bureau. Next we had the raw burger incident, the food quality is so bad they don't clean their frying Teflon all day long, it gets so built up the burgers can come out raw, like really raw. I complained and they said they would give me a new burger, however I at that point just wanted a refund, it was purchased through the app and they said they can't do it and so I took the free burger that was less raw this time. I had a brief positive interaction with staff and they mentioned a very large hole covered in mold BY THE SINK and that they would never eat there. I had another denied service when I tried to order online and they told me the drivethrough was the only one open, and refused to open it for me despite me paying and needing to walk there. I resolved it the next day by yelling unfortunately The final denied service was today by a manager named Casey, she said her register is down and she claimed to be management and I had told her I was just placing an online order anyways and that I'm just grabbing food and leaving, she told me she felt unsafe and asked me to leave, I tried to step back and just explain I'm just trying to get food after work so I can go home and sleep and she told me, at 1005 that her registers have been down for the last 30 minutes and the doors weren't supposed to be opened and brought it back to safety this time saying for the safety of the store I need you to leave. So ofc I just left because at this point I'm walking next door to checkers. I really did want to hope management would step up after Christy left but this is absurd to see the refusal to work with customers even when they have your money in their hands. Read moreTo review the food here is kind of redundant as it is McDonald’s after all, & they wouldn’t be in business if the food wasn’t good. However, I will review the service. I’ve been coming to this McDonald’s location for well over 30 years. The manager Jeff has been the manager since 2008, and his team seems to be the same team for as long as I can remember. The one thing I look forward to at McDonald’s now is plain and simple Jeff and his team. They exhibit such a rare quality of pride in their jobs, & find it these days anywhere is a struggle, yet you find it here at the McDonald’s on Gratiot and Martin. Usually when placing my order, I call it in ahead of schedule because it’s usually a large order. Whether it’s Jeff , picking up the phone and saying good morning, or one of his team members, they are all pleasant and happy to take care of you.
I wish I could say that about the ambience, that doesn’t exist anymore at a McDonald’s & who’s ever made this decision to allow McDonald’s to look like this has taken them down a very dark path, I think it’s going to affect their sales greatly. I don’t want to clutter this review, because I really wrote it about how great the services here, despite McDonald’s corporate doing their best to ruin an icon. I feel bad for the new owners, however because they’re forced to make the changes or you do not keep your franchise. Between the automation at the drive-through with the canned voice that spew out McDonald’s agenda not allowing the customer to speak. Dear McDonald’s Headquarters ,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a very disappointing experience I had at your location on August 3rd around 12:15 AM (shortly after midnight). This incident involved missing items, cold food, and unprofessional behavior from one of your employees.
I ordered two snack wraps and fries, but my order was missing both snack wraps, and the fries were cold. When I addressed this with the woman working the Drive thru window 1, rudely insisted my order was correct without checking. After some back-and-forth, she finally gave me the missing snack wraps after checking my bag for herself, but offered no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake.
When I got home, I discovered the snack wraps and Double Quarter pounder were served with only meat and bread—completely missing all toppings. This felt intentional and disrespectful, as I was not informed if the store was out of stock especially given how dismissive the worker had been.
The employee in question was an African American woman, working the drive thru at the time. I did not catch her name, but she may be identifiable through shift records. I mention this only to help with identifying who was working at the time.
This level of customer service is unacceptable. I expect better quality and professionalism from McDonald’s. I’m requesting that this issue be addressed with the staff involved, and I would appreciate a refund or compensation for the poor service and missing food.
