Update 2022/07/11
I understand COVID happened. It happened to us all. And unfortunately McDonald's was also affected. Even their cheapest menu items are now a couple dollars more expensive.
But what gets me about it, is that they have a sign up that says "be kind to our staff, we're still having staffing problems."
Restaurants on McKnight road make a name for themselves based on kindness to their customers. And McDonald's was no exception. However some of their staff don't greet you, don't even look at you, just hand you your food in silence, and mess up the orders frequently.
(Rarely salting fries even when asked for extra salt; wrong drink; someone else's order when busy; cold food; etc.)
Look, I get it when you're busy. Things can get hectic. I understand. But there are times when it's consistently bad. I'm talking like 1 out of 3 visits, or 3 visits in a row, to the point when I (politely) mention it, thinking feedback actually helps.
There are a handful of staff members that are fantastic. And every time I go and see them I feel happy. But there are definitely staff members that are regulars that show no gratitude for the customer. So it's not a one-way street. How can they expect us to be kind to staff when they treat us this way? Don't they train their staff to be kind?
(Greeting you with a smile; verifying order, asking if you want the receipt; thanking you for your visit;etc.)
I'm not very hard to please. Heck, I'm going to McDonald's. And I know their fries are going to be one of the best parts of my day. But lately I've been thinking twice about visiting. And it's just sad to me to be greeted by a sign that is constantly asking us to be kind to the staff. For years they've had that sign posted. Doesn't that seem weird to you? A good person is kind. But being treated like second-rate customers by a lot of the staff is not going to encourage good behavior. So why are they attempting to shut out feedback? Because they are desperate for help and no one wants to work for them. I can't think...
Read moreMy wife and I have brought grandkids here for at least 5 years, mainly because of play area. Saturday, Nov 9, 2024 was terrible in some respects. Manager informed me of new ownership when I complained about 1) tray delivered with no napkins, no salt, no catsup despite 2 happy meals with fries, plus 2 extra fries. Large fries were cold so I asked for replacement. This came with requested catsup - 4 or 5 packets. My grandson uses many packets, also on nuggets - they are not wasted - so I asked for additional. Was told they are not allowed to give us more catsup. I had spent over $29 and I can't get enough catsup? My wife and I had ordered a quarter pounder with cheese and bacon plus EXTRA bacon, intending to share. It arrived cold - so I went to the front window and eventually someone talked to me. I complained re burger and this person said OK and walked to our table to fetch the uneaten cold burger which I had neglected to bring. After 15-20 minutes I walked back to front counter and again, waited for human to talk to. Found out no replacement had been created so I asked for my money back. Counter person walked back to our table to fetch our catsup covered receipt to verify I had described the burger correctly. I asked for manager; initially told manager too busy to talk to me. But then he came and told me he couldn't change the catsup policy or leave napkins or even salt for self-service because of new owner. He pointed to sign behind him that had a phone # to get in touch with owner or actual responsible human. I did text much of the above to that number on Saturday in the store. I also re-texted it this morning. No response. So some investor looked at the spread sheet and realized he/she could reduce expenses a certain amount by making these changes. There's an old saying about being "penny-wise and pound foolish". He/she is killing the golden goose...
Read moreDon't go there ever. You won't believe my experience. I ordered with my mom. We got a slushie, pancakes, Pepsi, a burger, and some large fries. First they told us to pull up to wait because the slushie would take some time. We did what they said. Waiting around 15 minutes. Got our slushie and they did give us our food. She said she was sorry about not giving us our food. We then parked to eat. My mom looks in her burger and finds the burger undercooked. Which could make her sick, of course. So we were about to go inside to let them know go make us a new one. While walking there, We see the employees (almost all under 25) chasing each other with rags, running up the playsets, and basic running through the store. It's like 8:30 p.m. They were extremely loud too. This kid, which is around 7-9, hits the worker with a broom. I'm sure it's his brother or something but really. The guy ran to the register and we told him about our undercooked meat. He apologized and made us a new one. The drive thru person was rude too. I don't know which person it was, though. They also messed up our fires. We ordered large fries and it looks like someone took some out, or didn't put enough in. Very unprofessional to say the least. Please, don't waste your time at this place. This was May 11th 2021. If you do end up going, I hope you have a better experience them I did with my mom. It's just the workers I'm sure. They should act more professional....
