Our son tested positive for Covid the day before Thanksgving so he couldn't make the trip from Pittsburgh PA to Wheeling WV to be with us. I decided to order the Premium Celebration Platter from the Bob Evans on McKnight Road in Pittsburgh and have it delivered to him on Thanksgiving at 3pm. He received the meal at 3:47pm and was sadly disappointed as soon as he opened it. Sitting on top was a bandaid that some how got sent along with his food. Pic of the meal on the website vs what he received is also very sad and I cannot believe Bob Evans would send something like this out for a holiday meal. Compare the pictures! That is not the same portions of food shown on their website and definitely not worth the $23.18 I paid for the meal and apple cider drink. $34.77 in total with delivery fees. He looked forward to this meal all day only to be disappointed in Bob Evans and their lack of pride in servicing their customers. The manager needs to find out who was wearing a bandaid that day and fire them. They should not have been handling food. Even if they saw the bandaid I question whether they would have fixed a new meal or just picked it out of the food and sent it anyway, passing along God knows what if they were infected with something. The store was open until 7pm. We tried calling for over an hour with hopes they would make this right and send him out another meal. Nobody ever answered the phone. How can you send out deliveries and not have anyone answering the phone to fix...
Read moreThe server was being inattentive. He became disgruntled when reminded that he forgot to being out requested condiments. I made a comment to my children, apologizing for the poor quality of service. At which time, the server came barreling over to our table to aggressively confront me regarding my opinion. When I began to explain that I didn't appreciate his mediocre service, he proceeded to loudly shout a rude comment in front of a full dining room. I am not sure why he singled out my family, though I have my suspicions! A manager came over to assist with resolving any lingering issues. The manger offered to pay for the meal but the insensitive damage was already done in front of my children. My daughter was frightened and my son upset. The manager explained that there was no need to contact corporate regarding the issue because he took the liberty to comp the entire receipt. Although It was a kind and apologetic gesture, it did not diminish the nasty after taste of our dining experience. The employee's work conduct was unprofessional to say the least. Throughout the rest of our meal, the server did things to make my family feel uncomfortable. Walking by our table and rolling his eyes, giving dirty looks, staring at us from afar while we ate, and loudly talking about my family with another table of guests. His blatant taunting was very unnecessary.
On a more positive note, the food was delicious and that is the only reason why this restaurant is...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of town and were excited to eat at Bob Evans since we don’t have one near us. We waited a bit to be seated, which was fine, but the table had a sticky finish—even after it was wiped down, it still felt dirty and unpleasant.
Our server took our drink order, then immediately turned her attention to the table behind us—same size party, arrived after us—but she clearly knew them and prioritized them. They ordered and got their food before we did. She never offered a drink refill, which was frustrating considering we paid for beverages. The menu also said our meals came with rolls, but no one mentioned them, and I had to ask about it after we had already received our food.
When our food arrived, it was lukewarm at best. The manager came by a couple of times to ask if everything was okay—maybe because the server seemed nervous or unsure about how to handle the situation. It felt like she was afraid to come back to the table after seeing we were frustrated. But instead of trying to turn things around—checking in, bringing refills, making sure our food was hot and timely—there was no real effort to make it right. It felt like they were waiting for us to list all the problems, rather than simply doing their part to fix the experience.
It’s hard to bring up all of this in the moment without sounding angry—especially with a baby to get home to—so we just paid and left. Overall, it was a very...
