Edit 08/11/18 My husband and I went here again. However, the flavor was changed as the normal Pho. We were so disappointed. We thought it might be due to the absence of the owner. We may try again and if the Pho is not like before, we will never be here again.
————————————————- I am really particular about food. Nevertheless, the foods here were the best Vietnam foods I’ve ever had. First of all, I was impressed that the foods were soooo delicious without any particular ingredients. The ingredients were same with normal vietnam foods but the flavor is perfectly well organized. Second, the portion size was bigger than I expected. It is really nice that the price is really reasonable. Thirdly, their services satisfy me. They always smile and look happy so that I am also feel good during the meal. Lastly, the restaurant was really clean and neat. My husband and I went here for the lunch first. For the lunch, we had Pho #1 and Ban mi #3. We got into the fantastic flavor of the Pho. The baguette of Ban mi was perfect for Ban mi. Because we were so impressed about the foods, we decided to come here again for the dinner. For the dinner, we ordered fried rice (mixed ingredients) and Bun(mixed ingredients). The fried rice was well cooked and the harmony of ingredients were perfect. Two sauces (fish and peanut) were all well along with Bun. The foods were so wonderful so that my husband and I were so happy all day. Thank you so much for the amazing foods and service. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of lunch foods but I did for the dinner foods. I hope other people also try here and enjoy the real flavor of...
Read moreI’ve been eating here since they started. The restaurant management keeps changing since then and so as the quality of food and atmosphere. Sadly, each time with under new management their food quality and service gets pretty bad. I was just here in the winter and now again under new management. This one sucks big time! Food is waaaay awful and didn’t live up with how it used to be. Not only that, service is not so good. The place smells muggy and didn’t have air condition turned on with a temperature of 80. The waiter gave me a cup for my soda with a stained lipstick on. When I first took a sip I wasn’t paying attention because I was really starving and my blood sugar was down so I immediately took a sip and then I saw that stain. I’m not sure if it was even washed in a hurry or they had it accidentally put on a clean rack. I hope the sanitary inspection goes to their place to check how they handle the kitchen. If only I wasn’t starving and not having headache I would have left. The waiter was apologetic though and attentive enough to replace it. I’m only hoping the person who first had that cup didn’t have anything contagious. Like I said I’ve been a customer here since day 1 and it’s my first time to experience this and will never come back and take the risk to dine in here ever again. If it happened once, it can happen again. I know it’s my fault that I wasn’t looking when I took a sip off from it but the moment you sit in, it’s every restaurants responsibility to make sure they’re giving their customer the...
Read moreI have been going to this Restaurant since it first opened many many years ago. It is now got its third management team. I first settled on the Pho (soup) with meatballs. Really good. Most people can get by with the small size. I like the sliced beef and brisket also. It is great with the fresh sliced peppers and Basil leaves.
Then I discovered a hidden gem. That is the Cantonese style soups tucked away at the back of the menu. These come with choice of roast pork or pork filled wontons or both and with egg noodle instead of rice noodles. It is my favorite soup ever since I ate my lunches on Argyle St in Chicago where a Chinese co-worker introduced to to the dish.
Recently they added a "Child's size" Pho. This allows me to order a smaller soup with a Banh Mi sandwich for variety. Another favourite of mine is the rice noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls and dipping sauce. Great taste combo. This restaurant is in my top 5 restaurants list in NWI. It always gets my repeat business and I try to get my friends to go. So give it a try with a hot tea or iced coffee.
With most restaurants, you find the one dish they do best and you stick with it. Not here. This menu continues to educate me. Each management change has refined the menu. I now think they have the balance right for me. I am happy to have them...
