Had an occasion to visit this this family-owned spot, run by two Korean American sisters. They really know how to make Korean American fusion interesting!
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a nice place for a casual breakfast or lunch. While seating is a bit sparse, it’s mainly challenging to find a table if you come with a large group. There is also outdoor seating available, which is a nice option when the weather is pleasant.
I decided to try the mandu guk, which is a comforting dumpling soup that came with some light banchan. Really would have been perfect if it was dduk mandu guk, but for Roswell? I'm not complaining. All the banchan tasted pretty good and complemented the soup nicely. The mandu guk itself was rich and satisfying, perfect for a chilly day. The dumplings were big and delicious, adding a nice texture to the broth. I noticed some other interesting dishes on the menu, like the aegi sandwich with a fried egg and kimchi pancake, which imma try next time. :)
As a cafe, they offer a full range of caffeinated beverages, including sweet potato lattes and iced plum tea, along with alcoholic options like soju and Cass beer, which can be combined to make somaek if you’re inspired. It’s too bad they don’t offer dinner service, though.
Speaking of, service is counter-style, but they do drop off the food at your table. The staff was very friendly. They even surprised us with some brownie bites on the house, which was a nice touch.
One downside is the parking situation; it’s a gravel lot that can be difficult to navigate, especially when it gets busy. It can be tricky to get in and out if all the spaces are occupied.
Definitely recommend Heart & Seoul Cafe if you’re looking for a unique dining experience in Roswell. The combination of Korean and American flavors oriented around breakfast, lunch, and brunch is pretty cool. In some ways, it fills the spot Dosirak's closure created in this area. Happy to...
Read moreWhat a lovely experience today! The staff are super welcoming and friendly, the food and the little merch area is all homemade or brought straight from Seoul! I love this little spot ❤️
The food: I ordered their lunch menu to-go and everything was tasty. The one star I docked was just the portions. For $14, I expected more than 1.5 tablespoons of bulgogi. I LOVE Duluth Korean spots and I’ve had way bigger portions for the same price, but the convenience of home cooked Korean food in Roswell is certainly a plus - and it was delicious. I loved the option of their multigrain rice, super delicious and a great alternative to white rice! The japchae was a bit bland but maybe it was meant to complement the flavourful meat - if only the portions were more balanced!
Bakery: they have a lovely selection of home baked goods and a nice drinks and cafe menu so this can definitely be a snack spot if you’re not feeling too hungry! I tried the chocolate chip cookies and it was lightly salted, crispy, and just the right amount of sweet! I’ll try the dalgona muffin next time!
Service: 1000 stars for service! It’s a family owned place and everyone felt like family they had some tasty freebies - the BEST dalgona bites! I’d buy a whole slab of that stuff! The owner came out to chat about the merch which was super cute, I may return just for the little handbags
Atmosphere: Cozy vibes, like you’re going to grandmas house! There’s a lovely outdoor patio in the back as well. Parking is a bit difficult/limited with gravel and no delineated parking spaces, but it was decently sized! There is a very nice paved/cement handicap parking area...
Read moreI had such a wonderful experience at Heart & Soul Café. From start to finish, the service was excellent. When I mentioned to my server that I love Korean food and kimchi, someone from the kitchen kindly came out and surprised me with a side of fresh kimchi—such a thoughtful gesture that made me feel truly welcomed.
I also tried their cortado, and it was exceptional—smooth, perfectly balanced, and the aroma alone was enough to brighten the day. The café itself has a calm, comfortable atmosphere, and I especially enjoyed sitting outside to take in the cool, refreshing weather.
For my meal, I ordered the Spice-A-Roni, which was absolutely delicious with bold, sublime flavors. My only small note would be to slice the vegetables a little thinner for easier bites. I also thought the dish came with a fried egg on top, but it turns out this particular one didn’t. Still, the staff went above and beyond by bringing me a fried egg on the side—an extra touch of hospitality that made the meal feel even more special.
Overall, Heart & Soul Café combines outstanding service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere that makes you want to linger. I’ll...
