Terrible service from the wait staff. Dined in solo on a slow Wednesday evening. I ordered my food and a BEER at the same time. Received appetizer of mozzarella sticks literally 60 seconds after ordering (suspect) but still had no beer or WATER for 20 minutes. I was the only one sitting inside the middle of the restaurant, 10 feet away from the bartender. I could literally see my beer in a chalice at the Service Bar for the entire 20 minutes, getting warm. Even made eye contact with the bartender, as she could clearly see nothing was in front of me drink wise. Finally, a completely different waiter from the one who took my order gave me the warmed IPA.
Shortly after, I received the last of my meal, 5 wings. Since they were sparsely sauced, I wanted additional condiments to eat with. I waited 5 minutes for my waiter to check in until finally I asked the FOOD RUNNER if they could provide additional sauce.
After I ate my food and drank all of my beer, still no one came and offered to remove the empty plates or offer a REFILL of beer or water. I waited 30 minutes until another, different waitress offered. At that point I was ready to go so I asked for my check.
I waited another 15 minutes and finally the original waiter who took my order came and asked if I wanted anything else. Exasperated, I just said “I want to go home”. This was the first time, since I originally ordered, that this waiter checked back on me. Mind you, I could see him the entire time on the patio conversing for long stretches of time with other tables or checking his phone.
Again, cannot emphasize enough that there were not a lot of patrons at other tables during my dining. From my count, there were 4 wait staff, a bartender and a food runner for about 10-14 tables (including myself) at my time of dining. No large parties at any of the tables. I was the only one sitting in the middle of the indoor portion of the restaurant, directly in front of the bar.
I’m not the type to be needy, complain or have a lot of requests. I just wanted to eat and watch the basketball game solo. But it was absolutely offensive how little everyone there cared about service. The food runner was the only person who actually did their job. Everyone else, in between being on their phones or taking a shot from the bartender, just didn’t care.
I didn’t complain or ask for the manager. I gave myself a full day to think about my experience and to cool off. And I’m still compelled to let people know my terrible experience at...
Read moreUpdated (8/20/22): We had a party of 4 for dinner at 7:00 pm on Saturday, 8/20/22. We got a table outside right away, even though it was packed. Minimal parking, so we parked at the Roswell Library since it was after hours. They had live music!
Here’s what I tried: Garlic “Nots” ($9): The top ones tasted fine, but the ones on the bottom were soaked in oil. It was disgusting. Would not get again. 10 Wings ($17): We got Medium and Teriyaki. They were good, but expensive. Jawaiian Pizza ($25 for 16”): Pretty good, especially the crust.
Good location and fun, especially with the live music, but there are better restaurants in the area.
Original (2019): We had a party of 8 at 7:00 pm on a Saturday. It was packed for the Atlanta United game, so we decided to order our food to go and then take it back to Variant. (We know that they deliver, but the menu for deliver to Variant isn’t as extensive, so we were fine to walk and then walk back.) However, a table ended up opening up, so we actually got to eat there!
They had live music and plenty of TVs, with different sports. They have an outdoor patio (dog-friendly) with cute cafe lighting, but they said they had run out of propane tanks (???), so it wasn’t heated that night.
We tried to order Garlic “Nots” ($6), but they said they would run out of dough for their small pizzas (again, ???), so we couldn’t get them. We got Buffalo Chicken Dip ($9), Blueberry Thai Wings ($9 for 6), Chicken Tenders ($10), Burger ($13), Chicken Parmesan Sammie ($11), Avocado Grilled Chicken Sammie ($13), and 16-inch Standard Pizza ($24). Everything was delicious.
Prices are reasonable, service was good, and you can’t beat the convenience of delivering/taking to...
Read moreThe food wasn’t bad at all, the garlic knots and pizza were pretty good, not the best of the best but not the worse we’ve ever had. The service was not even a 1 star, it was more like a 0. The waiter, Marco, would literally walk away from us mid sentence. We ordered wings and he tried walking away without asking what flavor wings, it wasn’t till we called him back and specified lemon pepper. Not once did he come to our table to ask how our food was or if we wanted more drinks, nothing. He would come and bring the food and walk away. The cherry on top was when we asked for the check, he came and dropped it off and we tried asking him if he can split it 3 ways but while in mid sentence he walked away and went to attend to another table, that obviously was more important to him. We had to complain because not only did we spend over $100 on our food but honestly we were a very patient table that didn’t ask for much other than the basics. Not to mention we were a group of 3 and we literally hand counted a total of 7 people of color and that was including the 3 of us. We hate to pull the race card but we did not see any other tables complain, he seemed pretty fine attending to the people that looked like him but when it came to us, it was just obvious he had no want in attending us. We do not plan to ever come here again, mediocre food and horrible service, we rather...
