I arrived at 7:50 pm, ordered a Greek salad with no tomatoes, added chicken, and a baguette as my side. The cashier was very kind, and the two people preparing food were subpar.
They handed me my to-go bag pretty quickly which was great, however there was no baguette in my bag, and I could see that my salad had no olives on it. I went back to the counter and asked for my bread and some olives, and it was made clear to me by their body language that my requests were a bother to them. I am guessing they were ready to finish cleaning up and clock out for the evening.
One of them opened the cooler and got the olives out that had probably been put away for the day prior to me even arriving to the restaurant, and the other person had to go to the back to get my bread. When he placed the bread in my bag I said, “thank you” and he responded by turning his face away from me and not acknowledging my gratitude (for him having given me something which should have been in the bag in the first place). Absolutely zero expression of apology or regret from either one of them.
I’m guessing they were hoping I’d get home before realizing that they didn’t include those things in my meal. They got me though because I didn’t notice until I got home that I had not one single piece of romaine lettuce in my Greek salad - it was all spinach and arugula for greens. I like spinach fine and I LOVE arugula! But I did not like either of them as a Greek salad base. (Panera’s website lists Romaine as the #1 ingredient in their Greek salad.)
I’m disappointed to have spent over $10 on a terrible salad that I couldn’t even finish because the flavor was just odd, and the soggy spinach at the bottom of my bowl made my stomach churn.
Also, dear Panera employees, if you want to walk out the door right at 8:00, maybe “close” the dining room and lock your door at 7:30 so your paying customers don’t have to order dinner and inconvenience you.
I’ve been a patron of this particular Panera location for many years however there has been a marked shift in the past couple of years and I just cannot continue to spend my money here. My kiddos will be super disappointed because Panera Mac and Cheese is life to them. I have zero interest in ever going back....
Read moreI don't normally write middling reviews of places, but my family and I had such a strange experience at Panera. The service wasn't terrible, but everyone felt disinterested and disengaged, and we were only one of two groups in the place; at one point, the server completely spaced out while I was placing my order, and I ended having to repeat it. I don't mind repeating myself if someone doesnt hear me or it's loud. In this case, the person just broke eye contact and went somewhere else in their head. The rest of the staff interactions were similarly bizarre or off-putting. It seemed like no one wanted to be there and no one was happy to have customers.
The food was.... fine? Although, we weren't asked the usual options of bread/chips/apple with our order, so we had just SO MUCH bread. It didnt taste particularly fresh, but nothing tasted especially bad. It was just sort of... there?
The whole vibe in the place was weird. There wasn't much energy other than the energy you get when you can tell someone is annoyed by your presence.
I hate leaving a bad review, but my wife and I couldn't help but remember to each other that Panera used to be a place that had great food, great service, and an atmosphere so awesome that you used to have to wait for a table. It doesn't feel that way anymore. Hopefully they can...
Read moreI have always enjoyed going to this Panera Bread especially since it is ust down the street from my home. I am in their often so when I got a gift card for birthday, I knew it would come in handy. I go to use the card for the first time and I am told it is defective. They tell me that I will have to call the corporate office. I ask them if they could just issue me a new card, I am a long time customer with a Panera card account as is the person that gave me the card. I ask them can't they look up his account to see proof of purchase. They told me not unless I knew the exact date he purchased the card. I text him and he gives me the date then they tell me they do not have time to look anything up. I call the corporate office number and they transfer me twice before telling me they will get their "gift card team" to investigate and get back with me. I ask then why can't they look up the gift card number and see the value and issue me another gift card? This is for $35! My business issues gift cards all the time and we can at anytime look up a gift card's info but Panera Bread has to assign this to a Gift...
