Went to Sake tonight because it was convenient to Target. Had a horrible experience.
1st. The chef started with the fried rice. He served us first and the family on the other side of the table second. There was considerable rice left and he gave everyone in the family a second scoop not giving us any.
2nd the other family apparently had a severe shellfish allergy. They alerted the hostess and our sever. It was written on the table order sheet too. I ordered steak and scallops and my wife chicken and shrimp, not knowing about the allergy. Cook comes out and proceeds with the show. After rice he dumps the veggies and all the shellfish and steak on the grill. The family (rightfully) freaks out. He pulls the shrimp and scallops off into a bowl and sets aside. Cleans his spatula and proceeds to cook everyone else’s food but ours. Finally he cooks the shrimp and scallops but as I start to eat them it’s clear that they are still raw inside (except one small one). I set them aside, he does not ask how anything is so I wait, maybe he will ask and he can throw them back on. Nothing. He cleans the cooktop and leaves.
3rd after the protein has been served he moves to the vegetables. The pile is visibly undersized for a table of our size (unlike the rice). He starts with the family and by the time he reaches us there’s only onions and a little zucchini left. Maybe a half spatula each.
4th and probably the most disappointing, we bring our disappointment to the attention of our server. Show her the scallops, and tell her the other issues. She even shows us the table order sheet with the allergy noted. She goes back to talk to her manager about some concessions and comes back with a $4 dollar reduction in the $96 bill. 4% reduction. The equivalent to the difference between a steak hibachi vs a steak and scallop hibachi. I let her know that concession was insulting, she goes back and offers $10 off my meal a 10% reduction.
Needless to say, we will not be back and would encourage anyone looking for good Hibachi at much better prices to go to Tokyo Boat II just up the road. We have never had a bad meal...
Read moreI rarely give reviews leave alone one star. We came here to celebrate our friends birthday and it was a disaster. Our hibachi chef didn’t check everyone’s order, he started cooking in flames burning our vegetables, and then meat. When I asked him if he could turn the temperature down as good was burning he lectured me on hibachi and said he is doing this for five years and I didn’t know. He continued to throw food on our plates, he mixed orders and told our friend to put the food from her plate to the other friends plate. I called the manager over as I didn’t want to argue with this rude cook. Me and my friends witnessing the situation explained to her and she offered me a discount. I told her that her cook needs to be replaced with someone else, as he ruined our birthday celebration. Surreal. Never...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant out on a Sunday evening. From the moment we walked in, it was extremely smoky, (I know it’s hibachi but the vents should work!) felt dirty and grimy on the floors and the bathroom was not clean. The food took a while to cook and was average in my opinion. The following day my boyfriend and I became extremely ill, we’re certain we got food poisoning from this restaurant. This is a first for me dining in any restaurant in the US. Whatever is going on in the kitchen with cross contamination should be resolved. I personally do not recommend this restaurant and will...
