La Luz Bakery — Restaurant in Round Lake

Poor customer service in this place! Placed custom cake creation and was assured that they would be able to creat it as I had stated. Picked up the cakes and they were to their liking. Their excuse was that the usual baker was not there that time to make the cake. I decided to give them another try, so I ordered two more birthday cakes for my two sons 7th & 9th birthday party. I had to draw and explain in details how I wanted the cakes. (Due to the fact that they had messed up my previous orders for cakes!) The man assured me that they would be able to decorate as I wanted them. My husband picked up the cakes the day of the party, luckily it was him & not me, otherwise I would’ve left them there. I opened the box, cakes were definitely not to any standards!! They printed out a Mario brothers picture of the internet and placed the drawing on the cake!!! The paper was soaked and all the colors of the ink everywhere. Color where so faded you couldn’t even tell there was color in the cake! Drawings on the side and writing looked like a preschooler drew that. My son could’ve drew it better!!! Called to complaint couple times now looking for the owner and I’m always getting the run around!! For the prize that we paid, I feel they should’ve tried harder, and just printing a design from the internet and putting a piece of paper on my cake and call it a day. Very messy work! I have been a customer for almost 20 years and while my experience in general has been good, I must say, an employee will be the make or break. I had an issue with a cake I ordered which got resolved by the baker, Guillermo (he also made note about my concerns about the recent change in texture of their churros that oh which he mentioned there has been a change in the person that makes that kind of baked goods). He was understanding, listened to my concern, was apologetic and fixed the situation. A pleasure to speak with! Laura (on the other hand), the cashier (front person) was EXTREMELY rude, condescending and wanted to get rid of me off the phone, saying she was too busy, cutting me off from what I was explaining, as well as faulting me. I have been a customer there for so long that I will come back but if I was relatively new, I would bring my service elsewhere...

Such an Amazing bakery!!!!! We are talking about fresh Tamales, Fresh cakes, bread that come out the oven so warm and sweet that would make your mouth water. I live an hour from La Luz bakery and honestly it is worth every mile to get the best bread, Tamales, Cakes, churros, AMAZING RICE PUDDING’s, everything you can think of they will have it. I gotta say even in stressful situations they have an amazing customer service. They would even step out of there way to answer all of your questions making sure you get the best experience at La Luz Bakery. If you’re looking for something more they can even make personal cakes and make them so good that would make you want to buy another one. We are talking about eatable pictures on cakes or a special design. But I gotta say I dont care what anybody says this is the best bakery...
