I placed an online order for pick up. Although the staff working tonight seemed very pleasant my experience was very disappointing. I ordered vegan ice cream with crushed waffle cone and oreo cookies. The packaging is what threw me off at first. I opened my bag to find three containers, one with one scoop of ice cream, one with chopped waffle cone, and the 3rd with crushed oreo pieces. Amy's when picking up an order is this normal protocol? I would have preferred my ice cream be mixed with the additions. To make matters worse there was no spoon inside of my bag. I did go back into the store to grab a spoon the young lady did apologize and I didn't bother mentioning my dissatisfaction with the packaging of my ice cream only because I was totally annoyed and they were being super nice. The customer that was standing in line to order even made a comment to me stating "awwww no spoon that's sad" yes it was very sad seeing as how I was super excited about finally being able to get my ice cream from Amy's after a very long and stressful Sunday of moving out of my apartment and an anxious puppy. This ice cream run was supposed to make my day better instead it was such a disappointment to my...
Read moreExcellent first time experience. Amy’s treats are pricey, but you’re paying for the clean, well AC’d atmosphere and indoor tables. Andy’s Custards is no cheaper, so you “pay to play.”
Honorable mentions:
-Clean bathrooms
-Solid cold water station for customers
-Staff was 3 young girls who were all very friendly and helpful.
We’ve been to MANY other places where the young staff was clueless and unfriendly. Not the case here.
One of the girls helping us gave us options to save a few dollars on our purchase. Excellent marks. 👌
Only demerit: the cake cones were super stale. Not sure if they were old, left out too long, etc. 🤷♂️
This is a small complaint: everything else was superb. Great selection and atmosphere.
I still recommend this place...
Read moreWhat’s not to love about Amy’s Ice Creams? Delicious flavors (some are constant on the menu, some are seasonal), friendly service always, several scoop sizes & toppings to choose from, clean and tidy atmosphere, and it’s an Austin original chain! I always get the coffee ice cream sans toppings, but on my latest trip last week, I tried a bunch of other flavors - you’ll love Honey Pot if you like biscoff or honey, Strawberry Basil is super light and fresh although it feels more like a summer flavor rather than winter, Choco Berry is like their Choclate covered Strawberries but as an inversely paired ice cream flavor. I already know I’m coming back for the Zilker Mint Chip, (and maybe for...
