I genuinely cannot fathom how this place has anything other than one star. Either we got the absolute worst shift in every way or someone’s writing fake reviews.
The hostess was rude seating us, seemed annoyed that we ordered water. Then the entire time we were there the water was never refilled - nor did any server come to our table at all. When I tried getting their attention they looked me in the eyes and kept walking.
And that’s just the beginning. People were yelling at each other in the kitchen and everyone could hear it. Everyone was either angry or one staff member was on her break and seemed on the verge of breaking down into tears for the entire time we were there.
Three separate guests took phone calls loudly on speakerphone. One was laughing so loud I could hear her across the building and was banging on the table. That’s not an issue of the staff except that I wish they’d asked them to be quiet for the rest of the room, it went on for several minutes.
The food was mediocre or flat out inedible. Sushi was falling apart and mashed in weird shapes. Mushrooms were just slime. I’ve never had nastier sweet n sour chicken, the sauce was bad and the chicken had no flavor. The crab was bland and had a weird color to the meat.
The only good thing I ate was the chocolate pudding and mandarin oranges for dessert but by that time I was so annoyed that I didn’t finish it before leaving.
At the end of this they overcharged us. Online it says 12 per person. That’s what I went expecting. For two people ordering water and the buffet I was charged 34$
I doubt that place will be open a year from now unless people just tolerate a hostile environment and mediocre service. This was the second worst buffet I’ve had the displeasure...
Read moreWe select a restaurant weekly and order 12-20 meals for Emerald residents. We don't require luxury but we do like quality. I order two days in advance and ask that it be ready by 11:30 on Wednesday so our residents can eat at noon. Called to order another meal as their online ordering was down. Employee first said she didn't have a big order for today, then found it, then said two items weren't available and that she called and left a message. (Nope). Then she said all items included rice now - no fried noodles and no egg roll. This was on the menu previously. So I ordered more egg rolls and she changed all fried noodles to rice. Also all meals that had cashews now included peanuts instead. This was already a nightmare and I should have cancelled the order. I agreed to delay pickup for 11:45 (since she didn't know about it???) but stood there waiting for the food and to pay until 12:15. Some residents said the meals were not what they ordered all but one said it didn't taste good. They "gave" us a chicken and broccoli on the house but omitted a sweet and sour chicken. Additionally, they had broccoli in everything and it was still raw - super crunchy. (Not steamed. Not cooked at all.) Two good things: 1) There was an abundant amount of food - specifically rice and 2) Phyllis said the shrimp in her meal was good. I adore my residents and am embarrassed to have ordered this in their stead. These are sweet senior adults. Some of whom rely on the Wednesday meal as their best meal of the...
Read moreI have been tp this restaurant on several occasions with my family at least 6 times over the years. I notice that we are always seated in the same place or area in the restaurant, we are constantly watched but no one comes to our table to ask if we need anything. This time around the kids wanted to go again on a Saturday in July for lunch, I was reluctant, but gave in because it was convenient. I experienced the same thing as usual, this time I began to convivence myself that what I was experiencing was a diaspora issue, regardless of how neat and clean my family's appearance may be. None of the severs would approach our table after we were seated, no refills on drinks. So, I began watching how the staff interacted with other customers, they were visiting the tables often, smiling and making small talk. Someone finally came to our table with the bill ,but continued to watch us to see if we were going to pay. I continue to watch the servers and the other tables and everything looked normal and very professional, but that wasn't the same for my family and me. When i gather up my small tribe to go pay the bill I turned around and behold all eyes on us. So they do notice but don't engage or provide service. I paid knowing I would never return to the restaurant. We drove straight home and within the hour everyone was racing for the restroom. This experience has me believing that the horrific articles and videos of the newly colonization taking place of others within the diaspora has to...
