Short Stop — Restaurant in Round Rock

Shortstop has always been a great place for a decent burger or chicken fingers. They are fast and friendly and delicious.

I noticed they have catfish on Friday, it was Friday so I thought what the heck give it a try. That is something I have to do more of! The fries were hot and fresh and the catfish was the best I have had in Central Texas in years! The breading had a nice light flavor and the fish was really flavorful.

Edit: That review was about the Round Rock location that is right next to Round Rock High School. That location has sadly closed.

I have been to a few locations over the years and I can honestly say that they all have had the same excellent service and food.

I went in not that long ago the lady who took my order was the worst, she was rude and she kept rushing didn’t even let me finish talking, I asked for a number 4 with everything except tomatoes and sauces, when I get to the pay window not only she took forever to charge me but also gave me a sprite which I never asked for, and said well u didn’t want a sprite no ma’am I didn’t I said DPepper, anyways when I get home I checked the receipt and she charged me for double cheese I only got one and my burger only had onions and 2 pickles nothing else no bacon no lettuce didn’t have the extra cheese she charged me for… anyway I don’t give reviews out bc I’m not used to that but she really got on my nerves and it was a horrible experience, I love this place I always come here and never have a problem until today…. I have a broken foot and was starving home alone. I decided to crutch down my apartments flights of stairs and make my way over to short stop. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with only lettuce, pickles, and onions. I drove home excited to eat my burger, painstakingly crutched up the stairs again, and finally sit down. I unwrap my burger and it came with the works, everything on it. Outraged I crutched back down the apartment stairs and drive back to shortstop. I explained my situation that I went through a lot of pain to come back and would like a refund and burger remade. The burger got remade, but I did not receive a refund.
